For me it's not a question of preference, the condom is part of having fun, without there isn't any. Full stop. Also I don't feel any difference with or without.

With a partner you trust and have a clear picture of there sexual history then it's grand but in the world of swinging it should be frowned. Your sexual health isn't worth risking over one nights fun. That said yu would be amazed at how many change their tune and chance it anyway.

However if and when it comes to the likes of Fab meets then no way would I not use condoms!

suppose if you get used to having sex with no condoms then having sex with a condom is totally different..not in a good way at that..I like to be able to feel how moist the pussy is and you cant do this while wearing a condom..all the same if it was a random meet i'll definitely wear 1..my conscience would eat me if I didn't and I'd feel like a a dirtbag if I did..not worth tormenting yourself either..just put the condom on..the last few women I've met begged me to not wear 1?? like wtf is going through their mind?

"No condom when we're together but if we ever play with others then condoms would have to be on!"

Same here my partner and I don't use condoms together . Always condoms on a meet , you would be surprised how many guys will try to fuck with out one . Anyone who mentions bate back is blocked . No way would we risk it we have too much respect for ourselfs . We also actively avoid singles with bareback pics on thier profiles and their veris . We know that this lifestyle is risky but we get tested regularly and do our best to minimise the risk .

OK, lets shake the hornets nest a little...

How many people sharing their views here have ever had any of the following:

Common Cold, Cold Sores, Athletes foot, Hep A, Hep B, Head Lice, conjunctivitis, Ebola, Ringworm, Diarrhea.

Would it surprise everyone to know that all of those are spread by human contact (direct or indirect), amongst other ways?

So does that mean that all who vehemently advocate condoms on here never leave the house without face mask, rubber gloves and hood?

I have had the misfortune of having an STD a few times in the past and caught an STD despite faithful use of condoms, and its removal was not pleasant. The biggest shock for me though was the medical staff in the GUM centre confirming that condoms reduce the risk of many STDs but cannot prevent some. Ever since I am a regular attender of GUM clinics due to my lifestyle choices.

I would offer that there is a stigma around STDs that does not exist with other diseases/medical complaints. Again look at the list above - while I am not advocating unsafe sex, are we operating double standards...?

Cue the outraged responses...

To the medical profession they are just problems that are (mostly) easily dealt with

Hmmmm. Just googled it and can't find a clear definition. Found this on a health site: "What's the difference between STDs (sexually transmitted diseases) and STIs (sexually transmitted infections)? They are really the same thing. So why do some doctors use the word "infections" instead of "diseases"? Because the word "diseases" can make people think of having an obvious problem — but many STDs often have no signs or symptoms."

I beg to differ but sti's and std's are pretty much the same thing. It just depends on the terminology used by the doc or gynaecologist. Never be fooled into thinking that one is worse than the other. Whatever sexually transmitted disease or sexually transmitted infection you have or may have, please be aware you were infected by a previous partner and need treatment. You can pass on the disease/infection to other partners so be mindful of this and get checked regularly and practise safe sex to reduce the risk!

I ain't disagreeing with you on your point, they both are serious in there own right.

But an infection is a bit easier to deal with then a decease, if the infection ain't dealt with it could lead to a decease or leave you more open to it.

Most infections can be dealt with and cleared up with prescription drugs, where as a decease is a lot harder to be dealt with.

Next time any of yous are at the doctors getting a test, please ask the difference between both, if yous don't think I am right.

I am only saying what I was told by that doctor.

These terms are often confused, but they are not inter-changeable. Sexually transmitted infection is the broadest term. All STDs are STIs, but not all STIs are STDs.

Sexually Transmitted Infection: Invasion of and multiplication in bodily tissue by a microorganism (eg, bacterium, virus, protozoan) that is usually (more than half the time) passed from one person to another during intimate bodily contact meant to give or derive sexual gratification.

Sexually Transmitted Disease: Pathology (ie, damage) with or without symptoms secondary to an infection that is usually (more than half the time) passed from one person to another during intimate bodily contact meant to give or derive sexual gratification.

Well that clears that up

"I beg to differ but sti's and std's are pretty much the same thing.

So I wasn't wrong

It's just a name change.

VD years ago, then std now sti?

Theyre all the same thing.. vd was known as venereal disease, a sexually transmitted disease just like a sexually transmitted infection is the same thing... they all fall under the bracket of "sexual diseases"

I thought that was it - someone got a lot of money for thinking of a name change

Making comments like that will link us to the "when can we get our Apple money" forum thread "

I'm a simple soul

I have the same view on a lot of things - not my circus ... not my monkeys

I am only saying what I was told by that doctor."

There is no "both" theyre the same thing... passed from one person to another starts off as an infection.Having sex with multiple partners and no protection, the infection passed ,is classified as a disease because its out of control i dunno who your doc is but i tell you, id boil his nuts and cock before seeing him never mind fucking him!

Yeah, pretty sure boiling his cock and nuts would be an alternative way to remove the infection. Bit extreme though.

Listen i dont care what you quote me from the internet. An infection becomes a disease because of factors during your sexual health! That means protection and how many sexual partners you previously had unprotected sex with! So lets say you shagged Mary for example and Mary was known for putting it about and you were known as a stud in the local Fab Village. Marys fucked bareback sometimes and got crabs but that was ok cos it was visible and she could feel the itch.. and then so could you, jaysus the stud of the village crawling with crabs! But its ok cos its visible and the itch drives ye so fucking mad ye go ballheaded at yer balls removing every trace of hair for the little fuckers to live in. Little do ye know the fuckers are laying thousands of eggs unseen to the naked eye. Before you use the excuse of " i shave" believe me. these basturds lie on hair so tiny ye cant see it. So! Here we have pubic lice as an infection as one eye opener.!

Pubic lice is caused mainly through sex which are visible and treatable. I used pubic lice as a "mild" example. Not all infections or diseases are visible is more my point.

So you used something that is not an infection or a disease to make a point? Also, Mary's barebacking wouldn't be very relevant in your example as condoms don't prevent the spread of lice.

Im sure most get what im talking about...i just dont get the " i cant see it so it cant harm me" mentality. It just winds me up rotten that people are literally leaving themselves wide open and inviting infertility and god knows what else into their lives when it shouldnt happen. All for the sake of getting checked regularly and using protection. Women get checked for breast cancer and smear tests etc men are checked for testicular cancer, prostate cancer and erectile dysfuction. It just doesnt seem to be a normal thing that people want to do by themselves! In other words go and get checked! For the 5 minutes of feeling uncomfortable, the knowing youre healthy is the reward

Ill give you a high 5 for being brave and honest enough to state your preference but im gonna ask in the most humble manner that i can ,so forgive me but, how the fuck can you trust any man that youve fucked from a site like this??? Here we go with the question of infection where one lady pointed out shed run a mile if she saw your veries!Im trying my very best not to say"ewwwwww" about you and understand its a 2 way street, and its not only you but the guys involved, but please! Can you tell me why you love bareback sex with random guys so much, that youd risk your health for it? I dont get it when condoms are as near skin like these days as you can get!

I still can't see the humble in there it escapes me. If two consenting adults chose to have sex without a condom what business is it of yours ? . I chose to trust the men they are honest with me ,from their first email to me I tell them my preference and tell them if that's a problem go elsewhere . So far this year just three have come back with objections .

You made it everybodys buisness by posting your preference on a public forum!. All the more reason why everyone is responsible for their own health wouldnt you say? Heres just a summary of what you yourself is inviting into your body.

Chancriod

Chlamydia

Genital warts

Gonorrhea

Hepatitis B

Herpes

Hiv

Aids

Human Papillomavirus (HPV)

Molluscum Contagiosum

Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID)

Pubic Lice

Syphillis

Scabies

Trichomoniasis.

Ill leave that there and let it sit with you. Maybe your mindset might change and i hope it does.

Let's just face it barebacking is much more common than some on here think or pretend not knowing. There's barebacks lovers (male and female) as well as plenty of chancers - very few arrive at a meet with enough condoms, the right size but also put them on without being asked. Also I don't want to know how seriously protection is being practised on parties.

Anyway if you think you're more safe by not meeting people with bareback pics or people who have met a bareback lover, and let's throw in the bi guys as well, let me tell you you're fooling yourself!!!!!!

You're on a swinger site - you're in a higher risk group. People on here love sex and live out their ideas and desires each with their own set of preferences.

You never fully know who you're meeting, where they've been before and what preferences they have. Nobody on here puts all their cards on a table and some peeps are damn good liars in order to get their ride. The ONLY way to protect yourself is by practising consequently safe sex and get tested on a regular basis. ....and don't fool yourself - that's not healthy in any situation life throws at you.

Some very passionate views on a very emotive subject... But allow me to throw a curveball here:

The original poster asked the question "what do ladies PREFER" - she didn't ask what do you practice or indeed what is best practice...

So.... Back to the original question, and let me add the word 'hypothetically'...

I'm pretty sure I know what all guys would answer to that one, because no matter how thin the condom, some sensation is lost...

Exactly! I'm always amazed at the naivety of the people who think the only ones who bareback are those who say so on their profile or have pics that show they do.

The fact is you really don't know who does and who doesn't. I've no doubt there are members here who bareback with some of their regular meets but don't mention it on their profile.

The best thing you can do is mind yourself and play as safe as you can.

Look after number one and let others do as they please, they're going to do what they want whether you agree or not anyway.

There is nothing better than frantic sex with a partner where you don't need to worry about a condom. Plus the prospect of being filled with cum is hot.

Let's face it the "Ohhhh stop a moment I need to put on a rubber" isn't sexy.

However!!!!

I would never ever play with a meet without protection. They might be the nicest cleanest person you ever met but the previous partner might have been riddled and that I don't want to share.

I feel no difference with a condom on anyway so it's just the slight delay is the inconvenience. A small sacrifice for your health.

I don't do no condoms and nor will I be with anyone who does. Outside of swinging in a committed relationship where you are both tested, yes that's fine with me. But with a swing partner no. Also I must be in a small minority of guys who doesn't mind condoms, there really isn't that much difference for me.

"Just wandering what ye women prefer,

Depends..as always.

Not a big fan of the rubber BUT a absolute "must be" in a new relationship or ONS !!

Later in a long term relationship you've as a couple to decide how you want to plan your family or prevent pregnancy.

FYI for folks who dont have easy access to a free clinic or cant make it with work commitments etc.

Lloyds Pharmacy do a test via post for 60 euros. They send you the testing kit with REALLY easy instructions and the stamp addressed box to return it with. You do your samples, seal them up and pop em in the post to Dublin. 4 days later you get your results via email.

If you do need a prescription based on the results, I think you can get that from them aswell.

Highly recommend it.

That sounds like a great deal actually! No physical exam involved in that of course but it would test for many STI's and cheaper than going through your GP I'd imagine.

My GP charges 60 euros for the full whack but I have to get an appointment, drive there, wait and it actually takes longer to get my results.

If you had symptoms Id go to the doc, but if not, I think this is a good option. Less shame means more people gettin tested and that makes us all safer.
