If someone messages me in text language or generally isn't good with spelling and grammar I find it a real turn off. Anyone else?

Text speech has its place.

This is not it. Its actually a little insulting come to think of it.

You use text speech to save time, am I not worth putting the time in to write properly?

To be fair most of the messages I get are well worded. My own grammar and punctuation is atrocious. Wouldn't turn me off I'm cheeky enough to tell them I've no idea what they've written.

I guess a little intelligence is sexy.. It's about the content of the message too. A message along the lines of "nice tits bbe x" is the real turn off I'm talking about

I think a little effort in particular when reaching out to make contact for the first time really needs to be applied!

I dont think anyone would try the "nice tits" line in a bar without getting the heave ho fairly rapid!

...we're the same. There's nothing wrong with making a judgement on someone, based on message content. The problem arises when you start correcting people's spelling/grammar in public. We wouldn't do it, or like it to be done to us.

I wonder what these people do with all the time they've saved in short hand messages

I use shorthand every day of the week. I don't even notice i am doing it.

The biggest turnoff however is the spelling/grammar police.

Each to their own .

If someone wants to use text speak it's up to them. It makes me visualise them as being chavy (all bad tattoos, pajamas in the street and big fake gold hoop earrings) which is a turn off. My biggest turn off though is novelty naked photos. If your fanny needs Micky mouse ears attached to entice me jog on...

There's nothing quite as off-putting as grammatical errors

Text speak shows serious limitations alright. I don't think that people who use it would be that good in bed - there's a lack of imagination that comes with it which is bad news for the bedroom.

The main problem regarding text speak is I find it difficult to decipher. Maybe it's a generational thing. Never got into texting, always preferred the traditional phone call

So when sending a direct message or suchlike, always attempt to convey the message as I would if one was addressing another directly

Its the little characters that often accompany messages that really throw me.

Big turn off. If someone can't spell you can try look past it.If there's depth to what they are saying it helps. Generally they are short messages.

Not too sure if it's a generation thing, I'm a 90's baby myself

I wouldn't reply to a message with text speak. But yesterday I got a long message filled with it, so decided to meet this guy and boy he didn't disappoint.

He was good looking and intelligent so glad I took the chance.
