Just be very careful about who you invite. Especially if it's your own house.

We host parties as do many others ..We wouldnt jump into hosting a swinging party in ur own home unless its with people you have met before and know well..its surprising how many wont treat the place with respect when your inviting strangers ..good luck

Let us know when you are going to the club again

House parties are the best but you need to be sure of the mix and who is coming. One bad invite destroys it for everybody. Usually best to avoid using own home as have heard of people having uninvited visitors afterwards....

Excellent advice! We also host small gatherings from time to time. Some other things that work well for us are: Start inviting at least 3 weeks before the event so people can save the date, babysitters, book accom, etc.

Over-invite: If you're looking for 5 cpls, invite and get confirmation from 10, you'll find people will drop out as the date gets closer (for many reasons).

If numbers start dropping close to the date, don't panic and start inviting randomers you don't know, unverified peeps, etc. A party with 4 good cpls where everyone connects is a lot more fun than a party with 10 cpls where some of them are bad eggs.

Spreading the guest list in advance also helps root out any issues some guests may have with each other.

Make clear a start and cut-off arrival time. I.e. No arrivals after 10pm without prior agreement (we've found this to be very important).

While sometimes a little lame, a simple icebreaker once everyone arrives can work really well and can get the action started quickly.

We provide soft drinks, small amount of nibbles and any booze that happens to be in the cupboards. We expect and make clear that people need to bring their own, which no-one has ever seemed to have an issue with. Hence we don't charge for attending. Some hosts provide good food and booze and charge a small amount to attend, some provide food and booze and don't charge.

Finally....may seem obvious, but make sure it's definitely not going to be a weekend that Aunt Flo is visiting!!!!!

Have fun!

Get to know folks first - attend the socials or parties others run - get a feel for how the best ones are managed before you attempt to run your own. Security and privacy are top watchwords.

If you are inviting a squirter, check with your household insurance provider if you have adequte flood protection cover!

Best of luck guys, I can tell based on your enquiring minds that you will host a formidable event. Be sure to check in with Celtic Couple, they have done this before and I always noted the diligence of their meticulous planning.

We have done most things on the scene but have only had the odd couple over to our house. There are pluses to doing things at home.

I would say set up intical meet and greet near your house - see who turns up and then take it from there.

Due to our nosie neighbours we can do group party's in our house just one two peeps. Had thought of hiring house down country and getting couples to join us but never took it further. Best of luck with idea and you could put us on guest list ! Lol

Maybe start with a small crowd i.e. 2 other couples, then see how it goes? Needless to say they should be well verified.

Good advice - maybe try meet up with some other private party hosts for a cuppa and have a chat and get some ideas. I'm sure there is things they could tell you face to face that they may not be able or want to say on the open forum

Best of luck
