We block our heads out of photos in fear of a friend seeing us on this, we choose to be on fab it's our choice we love this part of our lives and if we are spotted sure aren't those who seen us on this too??? Don't think we should have to hide anything, I'm happy and proud to be on fab meeting loads of new faces and friends

The answer is kind of in the question. Shame is something put on you by others, guilt is what we feel about our own shortcomings. People fear the judgements of what is a very conservative country. Should they? No I don't think so but its human nature to crave acceptance by the wider group.

....wow...thats a very cavalier attitude. You're a single guy, with nothing to lose obviously. Spare a thought for the married people on here with grown up kids. Or single women, who maybe live out in the country on their own. Or maybe people who are involved in the community, football coaches etc. Not to mention cops, nurses etc.....maybe its just me....but id rather keep my private life...well private.

Most people are not ashamed. They are not craving acceptance either. Most people don't want their families, friends or work colleagues to know what is a private matter.

Our privacy protects us from ignorant and often jealous people trying to shame us for consensual adult behavior.

The outrage police would hound teachers from jobs, or others could use the knowledge to blackmail gardi or politicians or married folk. How many people would use the knowledge to feel up the local swinger nurse?

And most importantly our privacy gives us control. We meet who we like, when we like on our terms.

Nobody should be raped but it happens. Nobody should be fired from a job because of their sexual preferences but it happens. No body should be shamed because of their body but it happens.

Wishful thinking doesn't protect you

Swinging isn't, to me at least, a reason to be ashamed, nor is it a reason to be proud. It's just a choice, no more no less. My family, the ones who count, are aware of it, but I see no reason to show my face to every nosey person who creates a profile to pry or just to troll. Not ashamed, not proud, just private.

I do not think being ashamed comes into the equation. It is more to do with common sense and keeing your private life private . I do not think many members would want other family members to see their faces on this site .

It is rather ironic that you ask the queation , state that you are proud to be on the site yet do not have a face photo on yourself .

Couldn't agree more. It's not as much to do with a sense of shame - or guilt - rather, it's about discretion. People should be able to have private lives and not have to expose their every intention and action to the outside world. This is one of the major social/political battlegrounds of the 21st century...namely, people MUST reserve the right to their own privacy and not feel pressured into disclosing everything online ! And for those who think otherwise, they will just have to keep minding their own business.

"I've it hidden because everyone else has it hidden face pics are in my friend only images "

So because everyone has hidden theirs, you, who is not ashamed hide yours?

Why hide yours, put it out there for the world to see. Show your unashamedness, glorify the person you are, be proud and let the world see who you truly are. That is of course providing, you don't want your Mam or dad, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews knowing, or all the people in your local talking about you.

Sometimes i show it to everybody, sometimes nobody, sometimes i show it to others...at the end of the day its safer to never show it to anyone...theres people that you'd need to be wary of lurking in places like this, maybe even after you've met them in person you'd never know...each to their own though.

Married, looking to play. Wife does not have same urges.

I don't want to be seen by someone that might recognise me from work/home life as theyll judge me for it or spill beans.

Beans are endangered species so I do my best to protect them

I have face pics private and if you read what happens to those that don't, when The Sun or Daily Mail shite papers "expose" them, then you'll understand why people don't put face pics up.

Chat, chat, chat, get to know people and then they'll send a face pic.

Any face pic before that, you ain't looking at the real person or you're being scammed!

My opinion. Sorry for rant. No, I'm not sorry.

Agreed, well said but just want to add that I don't think our kid's need to ever know what their parents like in the bedroom. My second add on would be if fab had stricter control's maybe I would have considered including a face pic.

Being into something that isn't considered the norm by society does not shame me....it bloody thrill's me but I ain't going to run out and post my face all over the place. Discretion is a good thing too

I'm not ashamed. All my good friends know I'm on here and that I've been on sites before.

With regards to people in general, I don't advertise it but I don't hide it either.

Yeah I agree with the general consensus on here - ie no shame but private is private. Hasn't really been mentioned but obviously social media mixed with immaturity can be damaging. Ie having a face pic or full body pic having fun could lead to a screen shot being taken - then some fool will pop it into their whatsapp group saying 'hey just got sent this pic of your man who works in the bank lol' - next thing it pops up on your friends / family Facebook/Twitter etc! Phew! rant over lol if you're happy to share your intimate pics including face with the rest of Ireland happy days... If not happy days also..... And............................ Breathe.....
