Just wondering guys what's the whole process of reporting fake profiles!? Last night we noticed a 4 day old couples profile in the cork region with two pictures in their public gallery both of which were our pictures!! We reported this to admin and heard nothing back also we text this 'couple' asking them why they were using our pictures to which they immediately blocked our profile and deleted our message! We can see they are still online and just wondering what happens from here.....do we get a message from admin saying they have dealt with the matter or what!?

I don't believe you do get a message back from admin.

I guess when you see they are no longer on site then you'll know its been dealt with

Nothing much happens. Alert your friends privately and ask them to spread the word. Not so much to protect your pictures, that wont happen, but to stop others supplying them with personal info and images.

Of course whoever it is will just delete and do the same thing again. Thats their 'thing'.

Fabs could move to a paypal basis for payment and block membership to accounts with a history of faking it but then it would lose its income stream from the multiple fakes and frauds.

We updated our status with their name warning people and admin removed it! Pity coz their still online and all of a sudden we're facing a suspension if we 'single' them out again! Pity cos people like this ruin it for the good folk

That's because the site rules rely on people being genuine and honest. Which leaves it open to abuse. If you name and shame you get punished and the perpetrators continue on until admin get around to suspending them.

It's how fab works and sadly it's not gonna change. All you can do is protect yourself as best you can because nobody else will.

You are facing a suspension for breaching site rules,ie naming n shaming.

Admin must be sure the pictures are not their own before taking action,but be sure they will sort it,we had a similar problem a couple of years back n though it took admin a couple of days to sort out they did get it sorted.

With hundreds of reports every day, Admin deal with them usually within 48 hours. Admin never usually need to follow-up on a report.

Report the profile, block it and move on.

Theres also a troll from ballymun saying he's going to do a Ashley Madison type of thing and expose all the married single people on site.just be carfull people ...lot of new profiles popping up,

Some people can be so silly and strange on this and fab needs to act swifter to reports, I wouldn't watch a man on cam 3 nights ago and he started to make up stories about other members that I was viewing in the group so I left only for him to continue to message me privately saying he was streaming me on his Facebook, I tried blocking and reporting him but didn't work!

I am here for fun and am honest and friendly with everyone but he put me off chat for awhile!

That must annoying in the extreme! If you a site user can see the fakes then surely the site administration can also see the same.

Bad press for them and a lack of concern shown to genuine site members.

It must be very hard to out the pure loonies from the mild ones!

Are the fake profiles not the ones haunting the females? I'd assume that's one and the same issue. However given the minimum effort involved in setting up accounts here. I'm not surprised it takes a while for admin to act, it would be a full time job. If you're banned for using a fake profile, you should be IP blocked.

I've absolutely no interest in or knowledge of technology but even I know how to change my IP addy in 10 seconds. afraid IP blocking wouldn't work ;-(

Its not that easy to hide your addy if someone has been doing something very unpleasant there is a good chance that even if they have Dynamic IP that at some point they were assigned a semi permanent one.

lots of details to be gleemed from those little numbers!

but you arw right that they can be avodied then maybe blocking connections from tor browsers or proxy avoidance sites maybe?

but like LoneCav I am no IT expert.

I would think your average fruitloop stalker ot troll may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer but if the freak is using tor etc then he/she may be capable of IRL stalking as well.

Scary stuff, when you say haunt what do you mean constant msgs or what exactly?
