No names mentioned but how do people feel about messages instantly deleted? I like a bit of chat and messages so it doesn't cause upset but how do others feel?

If they don't wish to chat, why go through the motions?

"No names mentioned but how do people feel about messages instantly deleted? I like a bit of chat and messages so it doesn't cause upset but how do others feel?"

Not nice when you have sent message to see it deleted straight away, and not even a glance at your profile.

Their prerogative I suppose, and probably inundated with messages if single female.

But if they have instantly deleted, then they are not for you, that's what the block button is for.

Many use filters to hide who they look at, so you have no idea whether or not they have checked out your profile. If they have, and don't think you are a good match, then replying is a waste of everyone's time. There are some who respond to rejection by becoming abusive.

Was about to say the same thing

They can hide themselves from coming up on who viewed you so they can check you out without you known and if they don't like what they see why not delete saves both party's time to find people they can have fun with

Well do you reply to junk mail? The thing to remember is that if you send unsolicited mail it's best to not expect a reply and get all butt hurt just because someone who didn't ask to be contacted by ya had chosen to just ignore the communication .

Surely.by having a profile on here you are inviting others to respond, hopefully. In a respectful manner.

Like I said above, their prerogative to pass on it. Would be nice.to have a polite no thank you, but also understand That they might not be able to reply to all.

If you read the site guidelines, they clearly state that "no reply" means "not interested".

A reply, even if it's a rejection, is often used as as an opening to try again (and again).

I know.it happens here, but honestly why would you waste your time.

Personally, I reply to all messages, but then as a single biggest male I probably am.not receiving the numbers others are getting.

The more polite you are at times, the louder you can hear the voice voice in the message senders head "so your saying there's a chance!!"

We still try to be polite (unless we forget to reply which is rude)

Can be a little disappointing, hurtful even, if you compose a careful and polite message and don't get a reply. But, as has been said, nobody is obliged to like you or your message or even reply to it. They didn't ask for you to send it. This is not the site to have a thin skin on.

I don't like to be rude and not reply or delete messages. So instead I have filters on to avoid this scenario.

I have been on both sides. At the start of the couple's account I was trying to connect with people. I was sending messages and at times at times the message was deleted, especially if it was a longish message. It changed as we became more known, here on the forum and on cam. Then the messages started. And sometimes they were pushy and sometimes abusive and sometimes they were nice messages and sometimes they are from cool guys who we still chat to. It's not all bad.

But

At times the volume just gets too much and I totally understand why people just delete without reading

Hi all we have been on fab for awhile now and have always replied to people who take the time to mail us ,we feel it's the polite thing to do .In reading this thread it seems a lot of people presume what a person is thinking when they are sending mail rather than take a compliment for the interest they have shown in you or ye .In certain cases maybe people should look at it from the other side of this, if it was to happen to you every time how would you or ye feel. So our point would be it costs nothing to be courteous polite with a reply even if it's no thanks, shows character and if no is not taken then block just our view happy fabbing .

Wouldnt get hung up about it, i am sure there are others who will chat to you.

Never take it personally myself, if some one aint interested in ye, thats their preference.

I always hope that i get chatting to others soon after...

It happens to me now and again. If I see my mail instantly deleted I nail back wishing them good luck then block them so saving any further contact or more importantly wasting my time and effort in writing a polite first introduction
