I think DC have better characters and better comics in general

but the marvel movies are better (aside from the dark night trilogy) and they made universe is just comprehensive

Marvel for the comics and movies.

Spiderman because hes often depicted as a normal guy, messed up, just trying to do his best for friends, family and everybody else.

Lesser known charachters too Marvel Jack of Hearts. DC Ragman.

DC often brilliant comic series.

Loving the TV series Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow.

The Marvel Netflix shows are darker but more powerful as well. Great shows.

Why?

Well from a cinematic viewpoint, they just GOT IT. from day one, even when they weren't in control of the rights of the movies they did their best to stay as true as they could to the source material by exerting their control over the studios. Then when they formed their own studios it only got better and better. They just know the tone each one of their movies should be, from the semi-dark, thriller of Captain America: Winter Soldier to the light hearted Ant Man or Guardians Of The Galaxy they've got it all covered.

Best character? Well in the cinematic universe it's a tough call, but i'm going with two newcomers. Either Deadpool (because how can you not?) or the latest incarnation of spiderman from civil war (the best cinematic spiderman yet in my opinion)

and this is coming from a big superman and batman fan from when i was a kid. When tim burtons batman opened in 1989 i was there in the cinema in my batman tee shirt and baseball cap for fuck's sake.

God i'm such a nerd.

Marvel all the way; DC tries to be dark and edgy and instead just ends up being bleak and boring. Marvel (both movies and comics) is just so much more lighthearted with characters it's easy to care about

Fave character has to be wolverine, he's just so badass

DeadPool was a brilliant film but he's only half what he is now because Logan was so badass

The marvel cinematic universe for me is as close to perfect as it could get. They have casted and pitched every movie fantastically. For me Captain America (first comic i read) and Wolverine are my two top picks.

Having said that Dc comics and tv series are really strong with Oliver Quenn the Green Arrow as the standout.

DC on the basis of Hitman Tommy Monaghan as written by Garth Ennis, and the original home of Hellblazer or called Constantine these days.

Hitman he likes to drink, and gamble. Likes pretty women, loyal to his friends and the stories turn from comedy to dark on a turn of coin. How many characters have thrown up in Batman's shoes, consoled, Superman, clubbed radiactive killer baby seals or have a minor character called Sixpack whose superpowers are the ability to get d*unk and and hit bad guys with broken bottles.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is better than the DC one but Wonder Woman and Suicide Squad could change things...they look excellent films...

However I have always been a DC fan boy, better characters both in terms of heroes and villains.

Batman tops the pile for me. Such a tragic back story, dark, violent, brutal...and Ben Affleck's version was a stand out performance in a dull Batman/Superman film.

Slightly off point, although Tim Burton's Batman is my favourite with Michael Keaton getting the darkness in Batman spot on. I think both Jack Nicholson's Joker and Heath Ledger's Joker are both brilliant. Heath Ledger's death may have added to the myth but in my mind he plumbs several layers of crazy that had not been associated with the part.

Getting on point and on reflection as someone said above DC has more interesting characters but their full potential is not always brought out.

Did you watch the extended cut? 3 hours long? By all accounts it's the better version.
