Milk with your tea or tea with your milk

So apparently years ago milk was always added first as the porcelin cups were poorly made and to add boiling water straight off would crack them.

Nowadays apparently you should add the milk first because adding milk to boiling water cause the milk to heat unevenly which causes the milk to lose its proteins which in turn affects the taste and causes the 'skin' on top.

So I tried it out and added the milk before the water and I have to say it is a lot nice

What do ya think?

I know, I'm having good a slow day

Look.....tea is tea.

Putting milk into tea is like adding water to Jameson.

It's just WRONG!

Teabag in the mug. Add hot water.....stir. press the bag.

Leave it in.....and enjoy.

End of

Milk before the tea, just wrong it's like putting the vinegar before the salt like putting Dec before Ant.

Wasn't the milk poured in first years ago as most people used tea leaves. Pouring the milk in first kept the tea leaves down the bottom of the cup rather than mixing all around.

I definitely heard that somewhere but don't know if it's true!

Always make coffee like that! Milk coffee sugar stir and then add the water. Probably makes feck all difference but in my own head it's nicer!

Two cups , tea in one to brew, scald it first , and milk in the second one , once brewed pour the tea into the milk , has gentler taste & texture imo ,

Obviously you use a pot if you have a pot ; )

But really it's personal preference flavour wise and whatever one has gotten used to , as was mentioned before its 50/50 , that's not because one is right or wrong it's because of taste!
