"Badly I'm guessing unless they booked on a credit card. I know some that have been affected and they booked by credit card, there is no guarantee that the card companies will refund them their money. One woman was supposed to be flying out tomorrow." If you booked with CC you will almost certainly be able to claim a chargeback. Regardless, people who booked through the irish website are protected under irish laws. No point in getting advice from the UK press if that's what anyone's doing cos they don't have the same protection. This is from the Irish Times today: "People who booked package holidays – including flights and accommodation - with lowcostholidays.ie will be covered under the auspices of the Commission for Aviation Regulation (CAR) as the travel agent is bonded under Irish law. The commission will publish the details of how people impacted can make claims on Monday." So we'll find out tomorrow what will be done. Insurance doesn't make a difference either, doesn't protect against companies going bust. Our flights are definitely booked and paid for as we got the ticket from Ryanair after booking with LCH. Rang hotel and it's booked but not paid for so will have to pay for that again and have to re-book transfers. Hopefully either via chargeback or the CAR we'll then be refunded for what we originally paid. Unfortunately hotel price is slightly more than what we originally paid but still not nearly as expensive as it is at current market price so at least they're being sound about that.

"I have booked accommodation with them so don't know where I stand yet, just found out, shit" You'll need to ring the hotel directly and find out if it's been paid for. Most likely it won't have been and you'll be due to pay on arrival.

"I don't know, I think it depends on the company. We haven't rang BOI yet as busy weekend, will do it all tomorrow. I read elsewhere that some companies won't refund the money until the series was not received i.e. after the holiday. If that is the case it'll be tough on people who can't afford to book another hotel while waiting for their refund. But others have said the chargeback can be issued within days. I'd say as it's a very high profile administration it'll be very straightforward and you won't have to jump through hoops with the CC company. " You'll have to jump through the visa/MasterCard chargeback rules. Check out BOI website if you're with them they have a "disputed a transaction" form and you'll need to attach copies of the booking, and the notice you've received from LCH to say that they're in administration and your booking won't be honoured.

" It was in the journal yesterday. That's effectively what they are saying. The CAR thing can be protracted and some people will have to pay again. It's ridiculous they're allowed take money off people on Friday knowing they were going to go bang.
