My understanding is that it is a country but not a sovereign state.

Do those define a country? I had always assumed Wales was a country in its own right...but not sovereign. I'm just quoting what I'd read about Wales. I believe it is a country though but as stated not sovereign.

It's not in the Un. No head of state no armed forces no navy no embassys. No foreign office no passports it's a imperial province. It's as much of a country as munster is.
