But the army of irish fans are making a great impression in France... Including.. Singing to a baby, fixing a tyre for a elderly couple, actually cleaning up after. Them..

Much of the world's media is praising the fans..

Proud to be irish..

All I saw was d*unken happy tourists with people bizarrely saying how 'great' they are. Not something that makes me proud to be Irish at all. They are not representing my views

Have to say supporters from both sides of the border have been fantastic! Opposition players have even been commenting on them! Wonderful to see.

The fawning that is happening in the media is getting a bit ridiculous at this stage. Doubt you'll see any videos of loads lads pissing up against the side of buildings after a load of drink!

There were no public loo's and maybe 10,000 of us it the main squares and road in any one area. Do you think it would be more offensive if we pissed on ourselves or the walls ? When we asked the police the sent us down side streets .

We also didn't follow the media around looking for praise, we got it because we had brilliant fun with the supporters of other countries and that very much includes the english. Lighten up and have a pint of craic will you.

The Irish fans, both North and South have behaved impeccably. Banter, craic, good sportsmanship and respect for their competitors. A credit and a joy to see. Proper proud of them. They've represented N.I and Ireland as it truly should be, and is. Proud and rooting for both teams

The media followed the irish fans to show the fun and good spirits that can come from other countries. An example to be set for others to follow wouldnt you say? Its a sports tournament where people should be allowed set aside differences towards politics racism and everything else thats going on in the world. The hooligans that showed themselves at that tournament are not true fans. Theyre there to purposely ruin the enjoyment for true fans. The irish again have shown that we re more than just a drinking nation.Im very proud of them all even if they were pissing up against walls.
