Another legend, perhaps THE LEGEND has left us.

He was a deeply religious man in his later years, may he have his Godspeed to his final place.

They throw the term legend around a lot about people these days but this guy really was one.

Given what he has had to deal with for the last number of years with his health he is finally at peace.

One we could all learn from. A man with humility pride confidence brashness and graciousness all combined throughout life to produce a truly real human being. May you rest in peace Ali.

When will they ever have another fighter who writes poems, predicts rounds, beats everybody, makes people laugh, makes people cry, and is as tall and extra pretty as me? In the history of the world and from the beginning of time, there’s never been another fighter like me. Eat your words! Eat your words! I am the greatest.

Here's what Ali said when asked how he would like to be remembered...

"I'd like for them to say he took a few cups of love, he took one tablespoon of patience, teaspoon of generosity, one pint of kindness. He took one quart of laughter, one pinch of concern, and then, he mix willlingness with happiness, he added lots of faith, and he stired it up well, then he spreads it over his span of a lifetime, and he served it to each and every deserving person he met."

RIP Ali - the greatest of all time!

1 of my few heros. And not for any sporting reasons

He was a freedom fighter and fought for what he believed in and refused to fight for something he didn't

I can only imagine what he meant to black people in 60s America

Only for that horrible disease he would gone on to do great things as a leader

RIP the greatest

The words great and legend are used so freely now but he was a living version of both, an icon in so many ways, the Vietnam war stance and tackling racism the way he did, an inspiration to all. And simply the greatest too.....RIP

Ok to cry Hal, thousands more no doubt are right now too, me included. We've lost the greatest.

So many great quotes from the man himself, made me cry in laughter & sadness. His last greatest fight (with his illness) he fought with dignity & strength. May he be at peace now xx

Watched a great piece on YouTube tonight when he compared his and his people's struggle, in America with the Irish people's struggle, true revolutionary, and he ended in a joke about how hurling and football was to rough for him, and he'd stick to boxing RIP the greatest
