STI check

Been to the WWC for a routine check up this morning.

The Doc said STIs are on a serious upsurge in Ireland at the moment and men are especially needed to get checked.

It's so simple.. Just a urine and blood test.

Please go guys, it's vital within our swing community.

Just because people use condoms, it doesn't mean they are safe, many STDs can be transmitted via oral sex or just genital skin contact. Everyone who is sexually active and non-monogamous should get themselves checked regularly.

So so important to gave regular check ups!!! Not just for people who swing but in general. It is a shock to see so many people not practicing safe sex especially given how prevalent sti's are.

I have one female friend who is not swinging related who has the busiest sex life I've ever known of and she never uses protection (or birth control for that matter) and refuses to get herself tested frightening stuff!

Miss Mcjoy

"How often is regularly "

That's something you should discuss with the clinic, they can advise how often you should be tested, your risk level depends on your lifestyle - assuming you're being honest with them!!

Tests carried out may also depend on their assessment of your risk, so if you don't disclose everything, you may not get all the appropriate screening.

Oral sex is probably one of the main reasons for transmitting as so many don't actually think. Interesting how many give off about bareback yet in their veris or profile they elaborate about the amazing bjs they can give.

Well said!!! Plus the staff in the clinics are lovely, they pass no judgement and they hear and talk about sex day in, day out. Nothing shocks them.

I couldn't believe it today, I was chatting away to a woman today and we were just about to arrange a meet when I asked her 'was she clean from sti's?'

She then completely flipped telling me to f##k off! And how she was so offended!

I was completely shocked at her reaction, cause in my eyes safety comes first..

"Why tho? Do we not have a right to ask a question of whether the person knowingly has an sti?"

You can ask all you want, what's to stop them lying? Or having one without knowing?

It's up to YOU to get yourself tested if you are sexually active.

I know that, just didn't understand why she flipped when it's an obvious subject.

She's not adult enough to discuss STIs.

Unless u had discussed bareback or had seen pics on her profile of bareback, i would never ask...

As caseylee said, its up to you to protect yourself...

Guess the local belfast gum clinic have got its recent stats wrong or they're misinformed......sorry I stand corrected. I'll ask again in a few weeks.

If you are worried about rolling up to a gum clinic you can get a test done where they post you the test kit you do the sample and you get the results online. Google let's get checked. I've done it and it's very handy.
