That seems like a lot in a short space of time and if they have a family I wouldn't be too impressed if a spouse disappeared off for three evenings

.....the fact that they are married wouldn't have any relevance to how much they drank.....

If they're married and out drinking without their spouse, then I think that's way too much every wknd. Of course every one needs alone and headspace time but considering they also probably work all week then when are they getting quality time together? Plus that's alot of money on drink

Drink is a curse. I was married to someone who would 'forget to come home' after a day in the pub. He had no energy to do family things and was moody and aggressive all the time. I'm so glad my current boyfriend isn't a big drinker. I used to dread the nice weather because it meant days spent in the beer garden, now I'm looking forward to family days out and nice walks

A boozy afternoon in the sun would be a special treat for me - might be only twice or 3 times a year. Not a fan of excessive drinking regularly at all.

Married or not that's physically too much alcohol for the body. It will have long term negative effects on the organs and physical effects on the skin and the ever dreaded beer belly.

Drinking is supposed to be a social situation! When it becomes a habit or a situation where you are getting d*unk regularly then in my opinion it's no longer a social experience! Just my personal opinion.

I think it's too much. What does the person you're referring to think? And why are you asking? Are you concerned about this person?

So this person drinks sat sun and mon for 4 hours each day ? Does that mean he's skulling drinking into him or having 3/4 pints. Because id say someone who comes home from work and has 1 to 3 dinks every evening and goes out on a sat and gets pissed is a lot worse than a person going out for 12 hours over 3 days

He's guessing. But even 18 pints over a 3 day weekend isnt as bad as d*unking every night. Its all a balance if this Doesn't affect his work/life balance then whats the problem. As for his wife does the op know for sure it affects her maybe she is glad for the time alone to do her own things. There are a lot of sumising and assuming of the situation. For some people 6/7 is nothing for others 2 pints is too much.

All vices can be detrimental to you health/relationships. I've never really drank at home but i do like a drink when im out i can go months/years without a drink to. I know people (vanilla world) who every time they drink they get into rows or get wound up because of it these are the people that have a problem with drink not the ones that go out have a drink have a good time and cause no hassle.

If that's what his weekends consist of then it's binge drinking. Binge drinking is no better than having those two or three everyday.

If you are reliant on alcohol to relax of an evening or to get a good sleep. Or feel the only way to switch off every weekend is to drink the 3 days over it then you have a problem with alcohol.

Not sure what being married or age has to do with having a drink problem. Can happen sadly to the best of us.

Unless she's married to you it's not really any of your business.

I love a wee drink. A normal week would be a bottle of wine on a Friday night at home chilling. Saturday night same again unless im out with friends then I really don't count. I never drink during the week tho unless on hols.

Everyone is different. In my opinion alcohol is only a only a problem if yoU turn into an ass with it or if it starts to have an impact on work and family life.

The only thing I will say is I probably do relay on it to relax... That feeling after a stressful week when I pour a glass of wine really makes me happy

By any standard he is binge drinking every night he goes out. It might be normal in this country but in most others that would be seen as a big problem. And they're right

Basically I know both people throw an avenue I'll keep private. Wife thinks he drinks to much. He is a busy man work wise and outside of work does lots voluntary and maybe this is his was of chilling out. Wife is concerned and wants me to have a word.

"What would people on here consider a normal going out routine?"

I personally think two days of the weekend and a Monday is way too much for a person who already has lots of other stuff going on. Between work, voluntary stuff and drinking, how much time does he actually spend with his family? Maybe that concerns his wife more than the actual drinking? It seems to me like there's very little family time at all.
