It's proven that cutting carbs makes you slow, a bit dumber and also cuts weight in the ratio of 40% fat, 60% muscle.
Its proven that having a high carb diet gives you lots of energy and with some exercise cuts weight in the ratio of 50:50 fat/carbs.
Why do people talk about special diets, having foods in certain ratios etc?
That is for people like me who spent a lot of hard work building every ounce of muscle that dont want to lose any muscle at all.
You will always lose some muscle, but if you take in carbs, protien, the right types of fat, the right vitamins and then exercise like you really mean it, then you can get the ratio to favour fat more than muscle.
I for example rarely ever take in less calories than the recommended amount. I normally take more even when I am cutting.
Most of my weight loss comes from exercise and keeping a generally balanced diet that is leaning towards more protein.
When I am cutting I exercise twice a day, I do cardio and weight lifting. I'm not even body builder big, but even for my body I am aching most days, and some days I exercise so hard that I pretty much run on empty even though I took in more food than the average person needs.
Anyway, My top tip for someone looking to lose some fat, to just be a bit more healthy would be to pop to argos and buy an exercise bike.
If you are a man, wake up in the morning, dont go eat, go cycle for 30 mins at a pace that leaves you pretty breathless. Then go have a small bowl of oat based breakfast, shower, go to work. Clean up the rest of your diet, taking out stuff like bread, candy, and get your calories to around 2500 cals of good balanced food.
If you are a girl, wake up, go have a bowl of oat based breakfast, then go cycle for 30 mins at a pace that has you breathless and sweaty. Then go shower and go to work. Clean up your diet and try to keep it balanced, cut out candy and bread or anything high in sugar, but keep carbs in your diet. Get the calories down to about 2000
That's pretty much what you need to do.
