Purchasing a van

I seriously could do with a van but have been told that the tax is collosal. Is this true does anybody know and is there a way around it?

...what size if a van?.....Peugeot and Citroën do a 1.4 diesel van....taxed private. .less than200e...or if you go for a bigger van...tax it commercial. ..only drawback to that is, you have to test it every year

only looking at the moment. No particular size in mind

.....them wee vans are good value atm....plus very economical. ...buy them fairly cheap in the north. .50e to bring in..

To tax a van commercial now u have to have a VAT no and sign a declaration that it is used for buisness only

Private tax on some of the larger engined vans can be expensive so if u can get away with the Berlin go or similar it maybe better

Herd number , vat number either will get your van taxed for 333 euros along with a tax clearence cert.if you don't have either well then you may forget about it.

This country has us caught everyway thats possible

Had to get rid of it the smell of chloroform was overcoming

...varies depending on county...some will just accept a headed letter from revenue ...

...smaller vans that are post 2008 with engine size 1.7 or less may be cheaper to tax privately and also you only nct every 2 years instead of yearly cvrt @ 110
