Finally some justice & a chance for the victims families to get some closure. That's not to say this will offer them closure but they have been given some justice for their terrible losses.

ESPN did a very thorough documentary on it in their 30 for 30 series, tough going to watch & will leave you quite maddened at the end of it , such a very sad story but certainly worth a watch if you can get through it. Quite heavy & moving stuff.

I have to say..it was one of the most heartwrenching, terrifying things Ive ever seen on tv. My mum dad and family were dumbstruck and in tears watching the terror unfold. I dont think ill ever forget that day as long as i live.I became quite emotional today when the verdict came in.Its the families of the dead that are the heroes for their relentless push for answers in clearing their loved ones names. A very bittersweet day for them all.

They could not get justice from the British legal system.

See the following copied from ECHR website:

The applicants, relatives of the 96 supporters who died in the Hillsborough disaster in 1989, complained under Article 2 (right to life) of the European Convention on Human Rights that the original inquest had been inadequate and, that although new inquests had been ordered, they had to wait for over 24 years for an Article 2 compliant investigation into the deaths
