"Just been thinking.. life was so much simpler and more fun when I was a kid. One thing I loved were the school deserts! Sponge cake and custard! Sometimes pink custard!! Lovely!! What's the one thing that you miss from when you were a kid? " Mobileless society. Actually speaking on the phone to friends, writing letters, knees, holidaying in Portrush and Donegal, building ramps to launch myself and my bike off, building go-karts out of old pram wheels, naivity, Dungeons and Dragons, building tents and hideouts out of blankets and duvets, playing cricket in the back yard, being scared while watching horror movies, my dads VW camper, my mums beetle, weekends at my grandparents, my grandparents, mouth machine gun noises, toy soldiers, uno, toasting bread on the fire, trying to stay up late to watch Cheers or Moonlighting, watching Gladiators before going to meet my mates on a Saturday night, stuffing as many pillows in my pyjamas as possible and smashing into my brother, running up stairs(just because i could), poking around rock pools to catch crabs/starfish/stickle backs and creating my own ecosystem back home in a basin!(all form of life was gone the next day lol) and everyday was filled with possibility........ That all made me smile, great thread

"Living next to a bread/bread products factory... You can make pink custard at home... just use a packet of blancmange and too much milk. Couldn't tell you how to make the concrete sponge though because mine are always perfect. " Thanks for the tip..I might try that out The sponge use to come in large trays.. 2 foot by 3 foot.. cut into sections.. n it would have a thin layer of jam sprinkled with coconut shavings on top.. it was heaven in a bowl lol Sometimes id skip the dinner n have 2 deserts
