It's not about the number per se. It's about who you fancy.

For example, some people don't generally fancy people a lot older than themselves. These people have to draw a line Somewhere or they will waste a lot of time looking at profiles for people they know they won't want. They therefore pick a lower age limit.

Its the same with size. Girls are often not attracted to men shorter than themselves, so they put their own height in as a lower limit. It's not 'just a number',its a personal preference, and those are allowed.

No females will go on a site like this with SO much choice, and then immediately compromise on what they are looking for. Just doesn't make sense as there is so much choice and they can pick and choose.

Its different for guys. They find it harder to get meets and so learn to compromise. The fems don't need to.
