It seems that driving standards are getting worse. Twice on the way home have I seen drivers sitting in the right hand lane on the motorway doing 80-85 kms.

I doubt standards are getting worse

My da got his full licence in the amnesty in the 70s. Gov gave out thousands of full licences to anyone who applied

I got my first provisional just had to pay 13 pound, auld money.no theory test. I went straight to holland with it and got a job driving a bus they didn't know what provisional meantime there it was just a licence to them

So I doubt driving standards could be getting worse

Limerick

The system is to blame more than the drivers. A lot learned driving on their own on provisional licences. This apparently is remedied but how can it be when if someone caught on their own on provisional only gets two penalty points then can do it again.

South Co. Dublin

What's wrong with that ??? At least we're making progress and keeping the flow goin. Not blocking anyone like those at 80km/h who don't know their cars have rear view mirrors.
