Hi all

What are your views on the use of the "c word"? You know the one that rhymes with punt...

Totally killed the mood for me during a recent hook up. Hate the word, awful sounding word and took me right out of the moment.

I prefer the P word that rhymes with fussy

Anything less is not sexual and just twee. The C word just sounds violent to me.

Personally I think it should be reserved for use when describing the scum of the earth pedos or some TDs and Never Ever in the company of a woman. (^v^)

If people don't like this type of language being used during sex, that's their prerogative.

However I don't understand the offence some people seem to take from this word in general, or the disgust they have for it. It's just a group of letters, it can't hurt you, same as any other word. Again I'm talking about the use of it outside the bedroom.

Personally I like the word, it conveys a lot of emotion :D

When talking about pussy I'd say no, but if I meet a particularly annoying person who's just acting the prick for the sake of it, yeah its appropriate then regardless of their gender.

What about munt? A man-cunt, it never took off here.

My best real life friends use cunny/cunt we think it's hilarious it's only a word....we call each other it all the time!

And I love a bit of name calling in the mist of a good session...

Many words are offensive, or considered "bad" words, but CUNT is the only one that draws such a reaction from people. If used as an insult to someone, it's the same as calling them a bastard or a dickhead or a bitch. If used to describe female genitalia it's the same as saying pussy or any of the countless words for it. So I don't understand why this word is considered so much worse than others.

I think even Maureen O'Hara would vote for pussy! This should be Enda Kenny's next campaign slogan.

I don't like or use the word in general. However, there is no other word I know of that covers the spectrum of feelings, if for instance I bang my head hard on my fireplace wall by accident when I'm cleaning out the fire or someone almost causes an accident when I'm in traffic. The emotional release of just saying or (in severe cases) screaming the word, is a wonderful thing.
