"Parents need to learn the following things: How to change router passwords. How to block certain devices from connecting to your WiFi via Mac addresses How to block certain websites with filters. On top of that you have to monitor what sites they do visit. Also...install mobile security and anti theft apps on their devices. Cerberus is a good one for android. Once you've done all this you're in a good position of power over your kids...you can control what they see, and if they misbehave you can cut them off completely while still being able to get online yourself. I'm simply making the point that it's not enough to assume that because you control access at home or on their devices, you can just pretend they will never be exposed to anything, and that you should talk about what they are likely to see and hear, and warn them of the dangers of befriending people online who may not be what they claim. It's not just a question of what your kids have access to, it's who has access to them. | |||
