I think the might be a huge twist to this! Just because he wins the republican support does not mean the party will endorse his candidacy! There is a rumour in Washington that the republicans are trying to pull a coup de tat on him, and endorse Conelezza Rice!

Unlikely, but that notion has been floated in the GOP circles.

If he does win it I'm long forward to Hilary Clinton filleting him on live TV during the election. She will Expose him as the hog wart he Is.

For GOP they get the politician they deserve.

Seriously though, I think Trump is the lesser of two evils, the other one being Cruz. Trump is nothing but a hateful idiot who hasn't the faintest idea how to accomplish any of his vague plans.

Cruz is a calculating nutter who's probably a sociopath and has a very clear plan. His proposed foreign adviser actually still thinks Obama is a Muslim.

Fortunately, the two of them are both despised by the GOP so if either wins (which is hopefully a long shot), the majority of both sides of the senate will be against them.

I may be too optimistic but being a cynical, pessimistic bastard is just too depressing.

I've been behind Bernie since he announced he was running.

Part of me would be interested in a sanders v trump general, as if either of them won you'd really get to see what power the president really has for very different reasons.

Very good point John, but I feel you may have answered it youre self , a wee bit.Every president that has taken on the fed/banks has been assinated, bearing that that simple fact in mind ,you have to ask youreself what actual real power if any? does any president have ?

Out of Trump, Sanders, Cruz and Clinton, Clinton is the one who knows how the executive branch and legislative branches of government work and how to manipulate both branches. She has demonstrated that she is more than capable in tackling the most powerful in Washington!!

This would be a huge advantage if she were president as she is not walking into the unknown!

The real power lies in Congress and Wall Street. When the government has no say it the amount of money that is to be circulated, or cannot control or regulate banks, the country is fucked, and it cannot be reeled in!

You have hit the nail on the head , except I would say congress has nil power ,Wall street /the fed /banks call them what you like call the shots.Its irrelevant whose in office. Last real president was Kennedy , didn't he want to audit the fed? . Look what he got .

Yeah he wanted to audit the fed, there was a few senators that proposed a bill recently (past couple of years) to audit the fed, but The Fed's chairman, Bernake threatened a congressional committee with bankrupting the country, so the bill put forward to the senate was heavily defeated, and will continue to be the case!

I agree with you, why go around assinating every tom dick and harry whom wants to take you on , just bully them , introduce corrupt legislation to block them , if all else fails, then and only then assination is the preffered option .

those with a vested interest in maintaining the state of play i.e. the military and banks have zero time for congressional legislation. Besides legislation is hugely difficult to pass regarding banks.

Easier to just kill a stubborn president, after all, he's only one man. Crude as it is, that is the way things are, SADLY.

Oddly, you mention 'corrupt legislation' The Fed's origin was born out of corrupt legislation passed by a nearly empty congress and forcibly signed into law by a naive and pressured president. (I think it was Pres. Wilson, stand to be corrected).
