I'm after getting hit with my 5th dose in the last 12 months, which is frustrating since I train regularly and eat healthy every day!

Anyone any suggestions to cure and avoid the flu?

My cure is a hot whiskey before bed

Heres the science hunni.. your body creates energy from your food intake. If your body is under attack from a cold virus(which i think it is) the energy is used in your immune system to fight the virus. If you are training ,the energy is lost to complete the job of ridding your body of the virus which is why it recurs

The solution is.

Kick back on the exercise to light exercise only. Drink plenty of fluids and take vitamin C. Get plenty of rest and allow your body to heal.

I've had the flu once in my life, and it literally knocked me for six, I was only young at the time, like 11 or 12 but I remember, I couldn't get out of the bed for a week, couldn't even get up to watch cartoons or nothing, spend most of the time asleep. So I'm not having a pop or trying to give it the big "I know it all" speech.

But one of my pet hates is when guys (it's only ever men) say I've got the flu, and they're standing there talking to you. You have a cold mate. The influenza virus is an infectious disease, kills about half a million people a year, if you have the flu, you know you have it, no mistake.

Cut back on the training as others have suggested, you are putting your immune system under pressure.
