Book Group

I'm trying to read more. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in starting a forum book group. Maybe a new book each week or each fortnight. Then we could discuss them on a book group forum thread. Each time someone else can suggest a book. Maybe do A new book every three weeks. This would give people time to get the book. Then two weeks or so to read it. The variety would be cool. You could find yourself reading books that you wouldn't normally. I'd love to hear other people's ideas on this and see who would be interested. I think it's a great way to keep the reading motivation going for people who have a tendency to leave a book unfinished. Open to the floor for comments and ideas.

I wish I had more time to read, just crazy busy at present.

As we're on fab, I hope you talk about books with erotic or even better naughty dirty sex parts in it

I'm in, sounds like a great idea, don't know if I can put up website names on this, but know of one website that sells books fairly cheap. If I can't put it up here I can pm the site name to whoever.

Good to see a few interested. DH, if you're in, you can choose a saucy book if you wish. I was thinking of just popping names in a hat and pulling out an order for who chooses the books. We could even have the reading list published at the beginning. But only review in order every 3 weeks. Gives the faster reader a chance to read on if they wish. Actually. Maybe not publish the list. Just announce it on thread after each review. Stop any possibility of outside group spoilers!! Lol

What is a documentary called in book form? That would be my interest.

Ok. So if anyone wishing to join the book group. Indicate as others previously have done, by stating "I'm in". We can leave this open but on Monday. I can put the then current names in a hat and draw out an order for people to choose a book. After the initial draw. Anyone wanting to join can do so at anytime. They will automatically join the end of the choosing queue. Once we have an order. The first to choose gets until Monday. At which point a post entitled "Book Group" will post the first book title. We will then give it 3 weeks before we review it. One the first book is posted up, the next person to choose will be informed. They then have 3 weeks to decide on their choice. Which will be declared at the same time we start the review post. If that makes sense. If everyone can keep their choices secret until those times. It will keep it all ticking over and a bit of anticipation in the air. Sound good? Sweet

"What is a documentary called in book form? That would be my interest. "

If you are in, you can choose a book genre of your choice. When it's your turn to do so. Book groupers are free to read or skip books at their own leisure. I personally quite like the idea of reading books I wouldn't normally read, chosen by others. Broadens the mind.

Anyone can join in at anytime. More the merrier. Tomorrow I'll see who all is in and pull a name out of the hat. That person has until next Sunday to make the first choice. We'll do it in cycles of 3 weeks. I know most will probably nail a book quicker, but we all have different commitments. So everyone gets a good chance to read the selected book. If anyone else joins in mid book read, they still have time to catch up. Good to see a good few in. I'm looking forward to it folks

Lol very good Spanish!

Not quite the type of book I'm looking to read in book club!!

Just for the record. Joking aside, I'd like to keep it reasonably sensible.

Yes. Some erotic fiction is fine. Your book sounds like a bit of toilet reading.

Good morning everyone. Hope you all had a lovely weekend. It's great to see more interest in the group. I have just completed the draw to see who is choosing our first book. I excluded anyone who requested not to choose and who had not given a clear 'I'm in'. So our first book will be chosen by............hithere888.

So young lady. No rush. You have until Sunday to choose a book. If you decide before that, just let me know. Otherwise I'll give you a shout Sunday and post our "Book One" thread. Can't wait.
