Im a single guy, been on here just a few weeks and no veri's.. i could not get to the meet and veri coffee deal on saturday in dublin due to parental commitments.. but i'd rather not have any veris and be a legit member of the site than have fake ones and be sneaky etc.. i just have the photo veri so far but sooner or later that will change.

That's madness. No way would I pay 100 for the year. I'm pretty sure there are sites out there that are used like that which you have to pay for but no way would I pay that. And I can guarantee you I am real!

Even a fiver linked to your pay method would slow the fakers down a lot. Sure you could set up a new pay method every time you get banned but it would be a big hassle I think.

There was a newbie meet held on Saturday in dublin city centre...quite a few turned up to get first veri then most headed to watch the rugby.... now they've recovered found they got their veri they're looking...

It doesn't. It has no bearing whatsoever. The veri expectations are so misleading on here...the mods need to start to rethink the process. Things have changed for the worse in the last 3 months on here in that respect. And contrary to what some say...its not that easy to spot the fakes....There are some very good ones...who take their time and are under the radar for ages.

... so forums would die off and a lot of genuine ones like myself would not return. There are many who would as for them a fiver is nothing for the abusive fun they crave for.

It's not the amount I was refering to but the method. After 2 credit cards, a PayPal and phone, it would be so much harder to rejoin as the site would recognise you had been banned, not from your ip address but from your source of funds

The profile was quickly removed...

It happens a bit, we had it the end of last year, used our pics, and a name similar to ours,set up as a female profile then mailed vile stuff to people who had verfied us or were on our fiends list.

But they did take the time to mail us telling us they were posting our pics and info to facebook, kik, etc... and then they blocked us. It took admin about an hour to remove the profile.

Pure nasty and I Mrs C found it upsetting but there are quite a few nasty people about.

So either the person who set up the fake has a similar body to you in order for their veri pic to match the ones they stole from you (which makes the offender female or part of a couple)...so that it would pass fabs veri system

They got themselves veried first then uploaded your stolen pics.

I think what Hal means is that these people do actually get properly photo verified, but then use fake pics, so although the profile IS photo verified, it can still be a fake profile.

I'm sorry to hear that any of that is happening to people. You'd imagen in this day and age that there would be some way of stopping people from having multiple profiles. Have people tried watermarking their photos or would that help at all?
