Singles posing as couples

I've noticed lately I've been getting a lot of messages from single guys saying they need a partner to go to a party with as a "couple" just wondering what you guys stance is on this.

I think it's a little unfair that they've got a invite to a party as a couple when there not, or am I being to harsh?

Hmmm, tomato or tomAto? Yes they're a couple as in 2 of them but not a couple as in "couple".

IMO, no, 2 people do not make a couple.

So, what defines a couple? Monogamy?

Lots of couples in long term relationships excluded by that definition I'm afraid

There are women who are nervous meeting alone..there are also countless genuine guys who cant get meets due an excess of guys. If they choose to pair up, whats the problem?

No problem but they're not "a couple".

I don't see a problem in joining up for parties if it works vice versa. Is that not what loads of fb-couples do? However I wouldn't just join up with someone I haven't met and for the sake of getting to a party. There has to be some sort of connection.

This would be my outlook too.

I've been told I can go to a party if I have a partner to come with.

I've never posed as a couple to get the invite in the first place.

Nothing unsusual here.
