We all understand the value and importance of a strong profile picture and love interesting picture....but how safe are they? I am always amazed how so many have face pictures on public ...or explicit pictures with highly recognisable markings like tattoos and percising for example........what are others thoughts?

Mine do contain the occasional choke hazard.

I think for some that is part of the appeal, the extra tantalising risk. But to each their own.

I think it depends on the person, if people recognised us from here we wouldn't be too bothered but there are others that want as much anonymity as possible. Everyone is different I guess.

Safe in what way ? Are you talking about just being recognised ? Or pics being stolen ? I've actually been recognised quite a bit , and received mails from people who've seen me on the street , or just saw my pics here and know me ( my brothers friend mailed me to say did I know my pics were public. !!! ) , mostly I'd say because my hair colour is very obvious . But I don't mind who knows I'm on here

Most days I dont walk around with a marker in my ass, so I'm not overly concerned there.

On a serious note, everyone should be aware of the risks involved putting pics up here but I don't think everyone is.

A lot of people on swing sites are no longer putting as much emphasis on profile pics...

It does not stop them from enjoying the lifestyle...

People are certainly more aware of the risks of sharing, displaying pics ect...

However, it does not stop some sad people abusing their wish to remain anonymous..

I know of a couple who were threatned by a woman, told she would make their pics public..

How totaly tragic

I suppose it is up to the individuals, each to their own really...

Peeps need to think of what might happen "not in the now" but "in the future"

What seems fine now could haunt you in future career, relationships, family life etc.

I dont think ah fook it I am who I am is the right approach.

Think of all the crap that can follow you on drivel like book face

They aren't safe at all, mine have been posted to a couple of image sharing sites. I don't have face pics here even privately anymore never mind publicly. You just have no idea where they could end up, but that's the risk you take when you upload a pic on a site like this.

If you are aware of this as a fact, should you not let admin know, save people have private images looked at or stolen??

I'm pretty sure thats not true unless you know the password for someone's account. Private pics are fairly secure.

Apart from people on here no one would even believe they are me in my pic's. I have no outstanding marks so they can steal and do what they want with them. I am careful when taking pic's so no one in my normal life would know they are me

Apples does all our photography ...you never know when she'll start snapping..or shout..

"Hold it!...don't move" then go rummaging for her box brownie...

I often look at myself in her pictures and think wow...however,then I'm brought crashing down to earth by the view in the bathroom mirror...

Who am I kidding...I'm like a well hung version of Michaelangelo's David...

Oh give your long winded comments all you like...accuse me of playing the single woman card or stamping my feet all you like. All I was saying was that surely it's the right of the person to post what profile pic they want? (As was mentioned in a few other comments before mine)"Forced" was never mentioned in my comments.

And I'll leave it there as I have no interest in engaging with a keyboard warrior who's bored! You take care now

I believe you're missing the point of the thread, as several of the contributors stated, it might not matter at this current moment in your life who recognises you but down the line you may think differently. Only one other person expressed the same reckless view as you...

Thanks for the concern regarding my future care...but I don't think you really mean it...would you like me to put all these toys back in your pram before I go?

Or would you like the last word?

I think the point grace was making was it's up to the individual if they are happy with putting up pics that make them identifiable.

I don't see the problem with condoning people's decision to do that.

I just don't understand why it bothers you? It's not your profile that's showing face pics or tats or whatever so why have you taken it upon yourself to say if it's okay or not?? Now don't get me wrong you're entitled to your opinion and I respect that (which is a lot more that you afforded some posters) but I'll still stand by my first post whether you think or not it was invalid.

Of course its OK to post identifying pictures of yourself if you choose to. Why wouldn't it be?

Its OK to have non identifying pics, full face pics, or no pics at all. It's entirely a decision made by whoever owns the profile for their own reasons.

So why don't you?

Is it just the thoughts of people you agree with you are happy to hear.

Grace is entitled to her opinion and just because it differs from yours doesn't make it less worthy of respect. It would be a dull place if we all agreed on everything but it would be a more pleasant experience if respect from all sides was shown

I think I'll take that with a pinch of salt too

Sorry if I came across aggresive...I didn't mean to..

but I'm surprised at the open support given to the opinion that it's okay to post a pictures that could easily identify the poster...

I think the point is it's ok for others to do it even if you don't do it yourself.

Take anal for instance in my case. I'm sure plenty of others enjoy it but it's not for me

I just don't understand why it bothers you? It's not your profile that's showing face pics or tats or whatever so why have you taken it upon yourself to say if it's okay or not?? Now don't get me wrong you're entitled to your opinion and I respect that (which is a lot more that you afforded some posters) but I'll still stand by my first post whether you think or not it was invalid."

Perhaps a better opening post would have been "is it wise to show face pics or identifiable type pics" in public or as an avatar ?

Personally I wouldn't put a facepic up here publicly, but I know people who do, and they are NOT worried about those things clearly. As several people have already pointed out.. Its entirely dependent upon the situation of the person who owns the account. Some people are completely open about this lifestyle and have nothing to hide from, some people have jobs on the line if the are discovered. Its all up to the individual and their circumstances. There is no one-size-fits-all correct answer to how "safe" pics are.

Sorry if I came across aggresive...I didn't mean to..

but I'm surprised at the open support given to the opinion that it's okay to post a pictures that could easily identify the poster...

Especially by people that have hidden profiles or in Domguy's case no pictures...

Of course its OK to post identifying pictures of yourself if you choose to. Why wouldn't it be?

Its OK to have non identifying pics, full face pics, or no pics at all. It's entirely a decision made by whoever owns the profile for their own reasons.

So why don't you?

When I say.. "It's entirely a decision made by whoever owns the profile for their own reasons"..

That makes it fairly clear. Noone (myself included) have to justify the pics they use or don't use.

Would you worry about your pictures being copied ...screen saved and shared with others ....potentially with someone ...family member work college that may recognise you ?

Personally I wouldn't put a facepic up here publicly, but I know people who do, and they are NOT worried about those things clearly. As several people have already pointed out.. Its entirely dependent upon the situation of the person who owns the account. Some people are completely open about this lifestyle and have nothing to hide from, some people have jobs on the line if the are discovered. Its all up to the individual and their circumstances. There is no one-size-fits-all correct answer to how "safe" pics are.

Thank you ...that's what I was talking about

What part of the thread are you talking about that? Perhaps you can point it out. I can't see it anywhere?

Here it is ......entirely dependent upon the situation ........ Some people are completely open about this lifestyle.....nothing to hide........some people have jobs on the line ....... Its all up to the individual and their circumstances...... no one-size-fits-all blah blah blah ....see it now? lol

Apples....

I think he meant from your posts, not his own.

".but how safe are they? I am always amazed how so many have face pictures on public ...or explicit pictures with highly recognisable markings like tattoos and percising for example"

That bit...

Once my face isn't in it I'd deny it was me so personally I'm not bothered.

That was our point...

Right ok, I missed that bit then obviously "

I think most people did ...

That's why Ollie got so 'over' excited. ..lol

If most people missed it then maybe it wasn't clear what exactly you wanted
