I'm so sorry for your loss. I had to do the same. The hardest thing I've ever had to do, but possibly one of the best things I've ever done too in a way. When the time comes, we have to love them enough to let them go. Mind yourself, it can take a while to feel 'normal' again x

"Should we not be cheering up as per the title?"

we are sharing our feelings and sympathies with them. that can in itself cheer up.

"Had too put my dog down this morning aged 18 years it broke my heart "

Reading this has broken my heart. There is no friend in the world like your dog and when he or she passes it's the same as loosing a close friend.

Thoughts are with ya my friend.

Am honestly sorry reading this, your heart must be sore..

Am dreading the possibility that one day I will have to do likewise...

Always hoping our beautiful dog, may pass away peacefuly in her sleep...

Dogs are like family... And part of the family....

As the saying says... A dog is a man's best friend... (And not forgetting the children's and the the women's best friend.. But it's the way the words have always been..)

Anyway... You were the dog's best friend when you knew it was time...

My sis had to go through the same two years ago, after the pain began to ease she began to see his last moments with her as a part of the wonderful life he had...

A time to be remberd and cherished...

So sorry. It really is a sad time. I had a collie thAt strayed in to our house when I was 12 years old. We took her in and "mush" as we christened her followed me everywhere. We did everything together and she was a blessing as I was young and not many friends as my family moved a lot with my fathers job. To this day I think of her but I'm now in a new home with a new dog and it does help.

Our dog is my first and last, I know that she has gotten the best life possible, she was used for breeding as she is a pure bred...

People say I spoil her rotten ,why would I not , she reads my mood and snuggles in when I feel down..

I could not imagine starting again with another dog....
