"The soup is heating up again even on the countryside. Foreign investors coming in buying up property in bulk while the normal middle class irish citizen struggles to buy a home. Did our government put some legislation in place to avoid another bubble, to stop foreign speculators or reduce corruption? NO They prefer to lick the European asses hoping for a cushy job in Brussels in the near future. But also they will be voted back in again with the excuse 'better to vote for the devil you know' or the family tradition of flock voting. the mind boggles, feeling desperate.... rant over "

"So now we are complaining about the economy improving...we're never happy " No, what we're complaining about is the deck being stacked in such a way that it is becoming impossible for normal working people to own the roof over their head. This carry on happens all over Europe by the way.

"My mother trying to buy an apt in edenderry at the moment. One went up last week for €60k. Within a week it went up by €5k. Estate agent couldn't be arsed giving her a viewing time. I bet they are only showing it to investors. " The newest estate agent trick is to throw ie a 3bed semi-de on the market for fuck all let's say 85'000. Then you ring to get a viewing, and you're told there's a lot of interest and a bid in for a 100000. Yeah no wonder because they put it on the market under its value but also never have the intention to sell it for that price, only to draw interest, and fool people into bidding.

"Anyone buying now will be smiling this time next year as prices will go up...." I bought 2 years ago. 130k for a 4 bed with a huge garden (brand new but builder couldn't sell in the recession) . Neighbours across the road bought theirs 8 years ago for €350k. Now they worth €275k. I'm doing good so far

" Tell her to ask for an offer sheet, if they don't give her an appointment, threaten them with reporting to the PSRA, or drop me a pm, I can advise you what to tell her. I'd it's a bank sale, it's easy to get the receivers details, she can then contact them directly to report the agents for not fulfilling their terms of contract.

" They are saying they are having issues getting access to the property and keep going between tenant and landlord. I don't know.. It's like they don't want to actually to sell. It's perfect for her as its beside me. It's either that or up to portarlington. She's a cash buyer. You'd think they would be delighted..

Some tenants can be difficult, but an experienced agent, who knows tenancy law, can access the apartment, without permission. I've had to do it numerous times, there is legislation and rules in place to cover this. Tell the agent, to brush up on their knowledge..
