Exposing other members via forums..

Jump to newest

By (user no longer on site) OP

Have spent about half an our reading through recent posts..

There appears to be a trend here that is okay to expose others on the forums, then have them judged unfairly..

Surely in the event of a meet gone wrong, it should remain between those involved.

Unless it is to expose idiots, intent on causing the swing community harm or unessicary trouble..

People read the forums and it must be gutting to realise that someone has posted details of bad meets ect...

I thought it was against the rules of the forums to name any members, regardless of the reason. I'm under the impression, things should be repeated to admin.

I genuinely think the rule against naming and shaming is a good one. It leaves people open to witch hunts and mob justice.

Use the systems that are in place to report issues to moderator or other authorities if necessary.

The ass licking nature of the forums mean we regularly see members backing up the person they want to fuck rather than the one that's probably in the right.

The threads often don't last long as admin removes them.

Yes

Many of us have met up with others here, some have gone well and some just did not even get to starting block, but to post about them is a bit ridiculous..

Meets work or they don't, in the event of a meet gone wrong, it should indeed remain between those involved...

It is against the rules, nowhere in my post did I mention naming names...

I am talking about threads opened by posters speaking about meets gone wrong.

Aka the d*unken thread post..

Surely it is not right to expose any woman or man for that matter, on the forums, in respect of a meet..

What purpose does it serve?

Only to publicly humiliate the person when they read the thread, and have to read the judgemental comments from the Judge Rindle brigade..

???? I mean, if there are issues with another user. Instead of posting on the forums about it. Report it to admin. If indeed it merits being reported. If not, just forget it and move on.

It's difficult to ask people on swinging site not to talk about swinging they have done. It's down to the judgement and discretion of the person revealing it I think. As long as no people are named or implied then no rules are broken. People can make up their own minds about the members who choose to reveal more that you might think is appropriate.

Sure makes me wonder if there any discretion after a meet on this site...

IMO, if it is posted in the forums, then yes....

There is every chance the person can read the comments, and know it is them being discussed...

I imagine they might close their profile, thus spoiling the site...

People are entitled to opinions and rightly so, but openly discussing meets and berating others is pathetic...

Now as said before, I have no problem with trolls, trouble makers ect, but sometimes discretion is a must...

I guess I'd defend the right of users to use real life scenarios to ask questions about acceptable behaviour etc as long as identities aren't revealed.

And THAT is how the forums should work. Respectful discussion and disagreement.

I agree that the said thread-op shouldn't have posted it in the forum in the personal manner like he did, a more neutral phrasing would have been the thing to do.

However there isn't any comment from other fabbers on the thread that judges the woman in anyway or calls her names. Some people simply expressed that too much drink and meets is not for them.

I'd love to see the reaction if the person in question turning up d*unk to a meet were a man...

By the end of the day it's wasting someone else's time.

Perhaps I was d*unk when reading the thread???

* scratches head *

Claiming that a woman who turns up d*unk for a first meet should reconsider being a swinger, is judging her on one experience by the person who originaly posted..

Should we then assume that a person who turns up nervous and gibbering is an idiot and not fit for swinging?

I did not say she was called names, in the case of the d*unken meet thread I was questioning the necessity to post about the meet..

As I said I agree with you regarding posting about the meet.

It was phrased: 'If u need to to drink to swing, then maybe swinging isn't for that person'. The 'maybe' makes all the difference as it isn't claiming to reconsider, it's just putting the question out there...

Yet fabbers who expressed that too much drink and meeting isn't for them were called self-righteous in a very questionable way.

Honestly, I respect your opinion and that of others..

However, it was assumed judging by some of the replies that the woman involved should reconsider swinging based solely on the thread openers post...

Now unless she replies on the thread, it could have been a one off, nervous and drank too much...

Though I doubt she would reply, I know I would have ignored it and mailed him privately...

It is not only this post, there are many others and we all get judged simply for being swingers, so it irks me when private affairs are discussed such as this case..
