If my lady friend and I weren't attending another party in Dublin on the same night we would of most certainly asked for an invite.

Think of it as a simplification. It's not quile like a compeitive hotlist you can 'win'. I would say that everyone at the party was in good order, attractive and they mingled reallly well. I think she picks people she knows will be attracted to each other physically and mentally...and therefore hot.
