Define kink

I don't normally post on here but there is something that always confuses me a bit when I am asked if I am into kink, kinky sex., or what kink I am into...I assume kink is sexual practices that go beyond what are considered conventional sexual

practices...but as u get more experienced and try new things is it no longer kink...so is kink relative to the person..and on fab is kink more extreme...do we get confused between fetish and kink or are they part of the same spectrum.. never know how to answer that question just, cos I think kink is subjective... Any wise words on this fellow fabbers

I think kink and fetish can be used fairly interchangeably, there isn't a right or wrong answer. If you wanted to boil it down to a simple answer then maybe fetish involves an object, kink involves an activity.

So someone may have a heel or stocking fetish, meaning they need heels or stockings involved. They might enjoy a kink where they are tied up or bossed about. Or they may have a fetish where they enjoy being tied up but in a very specific way, say, with stockings.

Fetish usually means that the person can't get turned on unless the specific object is present. Though people seem to use it to varying degrees. Kink can really be anything, I suppose if you can think of a situation someone out there can be turned on by it. It may not even involve sex at all.

Different people will use the terms in different ways. Someone might say she's kinky because she goes to parties where some wouldn't think that kinky at all. That might come down to your own breadth of experience.

From my own point of view the kink scene isn't swinger's parties or the majority of 1on1 meets on here. It'll involve more than a quick kiss and a shag. It'll be pushing the limits of those involves. Bondage, wax play, role plays etc will be involved to some degree or another as will the nature of the relationship, sub/dom, daddy etc.

It's a pretty grey area and even those deeply involved in it can use the terms fairly loosely. I suppose the message is don't get hung up on exactly defining it, just get on with it and enjoy it.

Most likely they want to know if there's something that turns you on in particular or is there something you like that is bit off the norm, respectively checking out your limits.

Yes, I agree, I think the question is used to test the water. Thing is, although it a sex site, and this may be unusual but I don't give away much about what I like..until I meet the person face to face and know that we are going to enjoy each other

Yes this exactly and not to quote the other posters people asking "what's ur kink" I think are seeking info on what can they do to get u in to a bed. However I know my kinks and probably have a few that others would bring out, but to me finding out a persons kink is an exploration of their boundaries rather than a question
