Ive no chip on my shoulder Op cos in my day it was a toilet or a bedroom to feed my children. Hard as you may find this to believe but when breasts are full, they become painful and if the pope himself was there id still get them out to feed my child.I sincerely doubt she was looking for attention or wanting to be centre stage as you said.

I have 3 kids who were breastfed and I would kd absolutely defend her right to feed as her child requires. If that happens to be in Starbucks then so be it.

Im a man and yes men like boobs!

I have no problem with breastfeeding either.

What I hate is that men, in general cant comment on what they see as arousing without some women taking offense to it in some shae or form.

If that woman knew we were all talking about her decision im sure she would be so proud of what she did.

If I offended anyone, my apologies, the fact she was breastfeeding is not my point. She had great boobs that was my point, I felt awkward because society says I shouldn't be turned on because she is feeding an infant, but great tits are great tits. Sorry for any offense.

I'd say even older. As I pointed out further up Ireland has the world's lowest rate in breastfeeding, nobody should wonder why if you read posts like this. The government spends only a 100'000 in promoting breastfeeding but spends a 12 to 15 million to treat infections in infants. Breastfeeding prevents such infections in the first place.

Breastfeeding is normal natural and acceptable in public, its the way its viewed by people that complicates it.

Breasts are beautiful no matter what way they are seen.

I think what I was doing was trying to justify why I felt guilty looking at that woman and feeling slightly turned on.

It's actually a very good thread to read the for an against! Imo most on here have no problem,but you also have the few that prob don't have a problem either but are just going against others to get a rise outta them. Which is the funny part an amusing in someway to read!

Unfortunately it's opinions like this that stops some ladies breastfeeding. I have friends that told me the only reason why they didn't is because they would be embarrassed feeding in front of people. My ex husband was more a "leg" man . He never said women shouldn't get their legs out in public places. Breasts function is feeding babies. If it's private then bottle feeding mothers shouldn't be feeding in public either because the act is the same..feeding a hungry baby. N it's not even moving with the times. It's how it's been since time began.

I've flicked over some of the comments on this thread. Not all. Here is my tuppence worth.....

Breast feeding is a natural process. If it is required while out and about so be it. While I'd admit pregnant women have a certain glow about them, which is very attractive. A breast feeding women doesn't get me thinking filth. It actually makes me marvel at the wonder of life. It's an amazing thing. That's just me.

We have all been brought up differently in life and had an infinite amount of influences that have shaped who we are and our opinions. Some will think it not good etiquette to breast feed in public places, some don't see a problem with it. Thing is, if we didn't have our own and differing opinions. We would live in boring world. Our opinions on the whole, do not bring any malice with them. I personally don't think differently of a person for their thoughts, if they differ to mine. They just differ. It's an inevitable thing in life. If there was more tolerance and acceptance of others in this world, then happier it would be. Embrace the differences in the world.

That was a set up. All actors for a project to see how many would step in to confront him for insulting her. From the article I saw no one other than the actors got involved. That said I think glassing someone is a bit over the top for a verbal tiff.

As for bananaman. I'm just wondering, I was out in dundrum with my sister not so long ago and we grabbed some food the small cafe in the main centre. A very open and public place. Now she wasn't flaunting herself but she was obviously on show. She often joked about giving some guys an eyeful even though it wasn't her intention.

Bananaman would you ask your sister to cover up out of shame. Would you have the balls to ask any feeding child's mother to cover up or would you sit there like a Catholic priest tutting playing with your beads under the table. I think not.I don't think this Is a generational thing, just arrogance, a half shot of narrow mindedness with a slice of troll.

Lets be honest here. Every man would look and check her out while she is breast feeding. Thats a fact. But not everyone would make a big deal out of it. Its not something that happens everyday, but i have seen it several times and have definately taken a peek myself.

To be honest I would make a point of not staring or having a peek at a breastfeeding new mother,it is an intimate moment for mother and child and she is free to do it where she pleases without being ogled or sexualised for doing so.
