First post on the forum, hello all. We've been chatting to a couple who would like a social meet.We like the idea of having a few drinks, breaks the ice and is more fun. They want a coffee meet only. Are social meets on here mainly alcohol restricted?!

Why is it a problem?

Surely if you are interested in playing with this couple a coffee meet is the least of your worries..

That's up to the people concerned. If no alcohol is such an issue for you, perhaps this couple are not an ideal match and you should look for others who feel the same way.

No harm in meeting for coffee at first... then maybe if a meet is arranged for a later date arrange to have a drink or 2 then... it seems to work for a lot of people on here.

I'm lost how a coffee meet is a problem over a drink to be honest. Maybe they think a drink has expectations so to speak.

IMO. The first meet over coffee is ideal as you normally have A coffee rather than several so if the meet is not gonna go any further for either side, an exit is only a hot drink away. I/we have been on several coffee meets that went to a bar after the coffee to see what a more relaxed setting might bring...

Coffee meets are boring but not because of the lack of alcohol.

A drink is normally consumed and enjoyed among friends/people you know

Maybe going to a social might be more your thing to meet people.

People are only trying to answer you... firstly there is a Social meet where people meet for a coffee or drink, then go home to consider meeting for fun or not.

Then there is is a Social meet where people meet for a coffee or drink, with possibility of taking things further.

IF your is second then they might enjoy having a drink just to relax.
