I was waiting. & waiting. When I saw the opening shot with the waves & spray hiding most of it I thought "the tourist board are gonna go nuts if that's it!".

It did & we have to go visit it now.

I know they had to be in the film to make it feel as though we've handed our generation's Star Wars over to the new generation but I really hope Luke & Leia have a chance to say goodbye to us as well in the next film/s.

"You've changed your hair" At least Han noticed!

Yeah Annie, sure even R2 has a replacement in BB but how cute! He reminded me a bit of Wall-e?

Reckon I'll leave it a couple of weeks before I see it.

Firstly, hype will be less, secondly crowds will be smaller, thirdly the likelihood of having to sit beside a middle aged man in a stormtrooper outfit crying tears of joy and screaming like a little girl each time he spots his favourite character will have greatly reduced . Hopefully by the time I've seen it he'll have seen it at least twenty times so his emotions will be more under control

Just as well I can be a patient man when required

MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD SCROLL DOWN IF YOU DONT WANT TO READ!!!

How bad are the rebellion are keeping power if after episode 6 the empire is overthrown, then approx 30 years later they've fucked up and lost it all and they're a small resistance again?

You convert a planet that sucks the energy out of the sun it orbits to use as power for a weapon. what happens when you use up the suns power? your weapon is now useless and stick in one part of the galaxy.

it took Luke three films over the course of a few years to get good at using the force. it takes yer one the length of one film.

When you realise this is just episode IV: the next generation is when these gripes come to light. still though. great movie, and I will see it again.

The rebellion is no longer needed after an evil empire which took control is removed. Like Partisans. Reformed as another evil empire arose?

I would think, even though it wasn't shown, like the previous Death Stars it is moveable.

The Force is even stronger with this one...

It's probably one of the best scenes I've seen in any movie that when Han dies.

Kylo Ren was genuine about wanting to be good again and return to the light side but when the sun set and it went dark the dark side obviously took over again! it was pure brilliance from Ford and Adam Driver and when Han Solo touched his face I blubbered like a baby lol so so good.

Nice of them to finish the movie on an island of Ireland.

The footage of the island was breathtaking. As I believe it's the only location shot on earth we can identify with, I think we have no idea the numbers of fans worldwide will travel to Ireland in the coming years to get their selfie from a boat near the shore.

Fungi is finished!

Every boat will be filled every day for years to go out and take pics. Fantastic for the local economy.

My kids say it was the best movie they have ever seen. I thought it was great but I have to say my best experience coming out of a theatre was after seeing Toy Story (Yes, TOY STORY!, lol). At the time it was a breakthrough in visual experience like nothing seen before, Pixar had arrived. Now owned by Disney and of course they are now behind Star Wars!. I was impressed how Disney didn't spoil it like others do in the pre release trailers.

Have a good Christmas all

Lee

I cant breathe! It was fan fucking tastic! JJ Abrahams said he wanted to give the fans what they wanted and he delivered in boat loads, no in x wing loads.

The were certain plot points that needed a bit more thought or development but really it was brilliant. And i loved that they kept the original score, it worked so well and when rey picked up the lightsaber it gave me chills. Will see it many many times

Probably the best movie of the lot....definitely since Empire and probably surpasses that.

Watched Jedi last night, theres a scene where the Emporer is on the Death Star II, he's turns to 2 shams in purple. Is one of them the Supreme leader??

Also these people are in outer space, they've mastered warp speed, yet 30 years on and there's still small black Tonko trucks scurrying around Space cruisers??

I noticed that the Millennium Falcon had a rectangular satellite dish in this movie. I know it's just a tiny detail but in the original three it was round. And it was round in the original Kenner toy that I got all those christmases ago.

Also, in Empire, Luke's hand (which is holding the lightsaber) gets sliced off by Vader and then Luke dives down that chute, without the severed hand or the saber (hence the new green Saber in Jedi) So how did the original saber end up in that box?

Force Awakens?

Thought it was a New Hope I was watching. Where's that droid we're looking for? Hey there's a hopeful Jedi that lives on a desert planet, oh she hasn't had any training but that's ok she can still beat a well trained sith. Hey look, Obi W... I mean Han Solo gets killed (another main character bites the dust).

Han, I am your son!

Hey look it's a way bigger Death Star planet that blows up planets, no worries we found a weakness, little bit more difficult than the last but doable.

Still enjoyed it but so much reguritating in the first new batch and now this one too.

Remember Hans asked Maz Kanata where she got the saber she said a story for another time...

Seen it for the second time today and loads of bits I missed like even at the Battle table they are slagging the fact that the death star is the exact same as the old death star...just bigger!!

The screen writers are the biggest starwars geeks imaginable so even bits that may be critiqued they did it in the film...

If possible I enjoyed it today just as much if not more as the first time...

For fear of being shot down , we seen it Friday night and left the cinema feeling a bit short changed. Once we enjoyed the new version of the original 3 which they did well to bring up to date, where was the new ideas/storyline? It was basically a good job well done to bring the original 3 films up to date with new characters. I really hope this was Disneys intent, but if they follow up with more of the same to me it'll just become another James Bond type milking saga.

So many times while watching I thought I might as well be watching the original story, as fans we need something new and I hope certain things I picked up on will lead to the next installment being a lot more entertaining....

I should also add, the film was based on being 30 years on from the originals, so in 30 years of technology evolving the only upgrade the X wing fighter got was a black paint job? In reality we didn't have mobile phones 30 years ago so to be using the same fighters/at-ats etc etc is just to pacify the fan boys.... I guess they thought if it's not broke don't fix it.....

It's called re-familiarization. This is for a new generation who's parents haven't brought them up on a Jedi diet, the experienced among us can handle a Frankenstein jump start to the new franchise.

Merry Christmas and may the Force be with you all!

Ohh let me know how that is. It may be my next purchase when I'm done with fallout. I'm hearing mixed reports though...."

Patches have been released but it's online only, no campaign I understand. It came free with the PS4 though so no biggie if it's wank.
