Bottled in the same plant in Clonmel. Stickers put on the bottles after filling the only difference. I love cider..... Love the stuff. If I'm out with a lady, however, I go in the Miller. And Jameson if things are going good.

C&C did research on this. Feedback was that the Irish market reacted better to the bulmers name, historic affinity and such like.

Tipp

I found Orchard Thieves to have a very plasticy/unnatural taste off of it. Bulmers/Magners is lovely in the summer time.

The English Bulmers cider is quite nice too, very similar to ours, slightly sweeter.

It is because Bulmers owned bought out Magner's operation but the company eventually split, with the Irish Bulmers retaining the licence to use the name in Ireland and the English Bulmers everywhere else:

There are 3 drinks.

Bulmers Ireland

Magners

Bulmers UK.

Magners/Bulmers used to be connected, The connection was lost and so was the right to use the trademark in UK.

The UK brand fell into decline and Magners/Bulmers Ireland started to market big glasses of cider pouring over Ice, and they invented the marketing for iced cider.

Bulmers UK then relaunced "Bulmers Original" and competed against Magners(whcih is bulmers Ireland).

Bulmers Ireland/Magners are exactly the same drink.

Bulmers UK is a completley different drink and although has a long distinquished history simply exists today as a trade mark to try gobble up some of the extremely popular Bulmers Ireland/Magners market.

cahir/cashel

bulmers was brewed in ireland from a license from english company Bulmers and when Bulmers Ireland went into export market they had to brand it as Magners. hence both the same gut rot
