Got one in the morning, whats your best piece of advice?

Reply privatelyReply in forumReply +quote

Always...always be enthusiastic ...but you gotta make the interviewer think you really want this job...which means of course...you'll be able to answer any questions they ask because you've done your research!!!!;

..and at the end when they ask you if 'you have any questions'....ask them something relevant for the job, like it sounds like you have thought about allready working the position and progressing....

..ehh..not that simples really..lol

..oh...and know your own cv Inside out...employment breaks, reasons for leaving previous posts, your interests qualifications ..

Be your self. Know something about the job and the company. Leave the salary question until last. Sit upright. Don't fidget. Remember all they can say is no.

Hope it helps.

INTERVIEWER: what's your weakness

ME: I like to speak my mind

INTERVIEWER: I don't see that as a weakness

ME: I don't care what you think

Know your cv inside out. And be able to talk through it in good detail.

Be sure to point out anything from your experience from past jobs that you feel will be useful or a help in the new job.

Be aware of possible questions that they might ask on new role.

Most importantly make eye contact 99% of the time.

Best of luck

Know the company its history etc .

Know your CV inside out.

When asked a question try to give a detailed answer without waffleing on . Bt watch to see if there looking for more.

I found if i can keep the panel chatting they have less time to ask questions

Be confident

Know your CV thoroughly

Think of your reasons why you want the job..... you have the experience relevant to the job & you're capable of much more...

What can you give to the job?

Why do you think you'd be suitable for the job?

What do you see yourself doing in 5 years time?

Don't waffle

Good luck Op!!

Keep a positive demeanour and when speaking of former employers keep the comments positive even if you did not like the job or the firm

Be yourself and be prepared about the company you interviewing with

If there are specific questions about some of of your achievements keep them relevant to the job you are interviewing for and use the STAR approach: describe the Situation and the Task, tell what Action you took and the Result of what you did.

Good luck!

Chill dollface and remember the interviewer is doing a job not looking to catch you out, present yourself well take a few deep breaths before the interview, drink some water so your mouth does not become dry and do not be afraid to ask the interviewer to repeat something you do not fully understand.

"INTERVIEWER: what's your weakness

ME: I like to speak my mind

INTERVIEWER: I don't see that as a weakness

ME: I don't care what you think

"

One of my favourite ones!

I sit on a lot of interview boards with my work.

Be yourself, be honest so your CV is backing up with what you say.

I like to see some one neatly dressed, showing a litter nervousness is no problem.

Avoid the leading pause so don't keep talking state you points but don't ramble on.

If the role is responsible or managerial I like to see an interest in current affairs so read the news headlines for that day.

Relax and best of luck to you.

When they ask what are your strengths, 'attention to detail' is always a good one but have a good example of when it saved the day, and write down possible questions plus answers again with examples so if asked they will be easier to recount. Most of all go in there knowing that they want to give you the job. Good luck. X
