my local gaa and rugby clubs had a strictly come dancing fundraiser, made 30 grand a piece out of it, it was ran over 3 Saturday nights..

club lottos , spot the balls, these are on going fundraisers that keep money coming in throughout the year.

as for once off fund raising remember try and keep the initial costs down. you can run 5 a side tournaments , white collar boxing vs an other club both teams benefit from the ticket sales, race nights

Try to avoid the boxing one, too many loopholes with fighting / insurance etc,

Quiz nights and raffles can bring in a few hundred depending on size, but if your looking at 5k plus of fundraising a lot of time and effort will be needed, it also depends on what your fundraising for too, I've arranged a few events over the years and it's a great feeling once the event is over and you get the tally,

No, its an in house event. A race night works by showing recordings of horse or dog races on the night.

People get to "buy" a horse in each of your races or if your event is big they the chance to pay to be the trainer or jockey. In other words they give you money to be involved in the race. If their horse wins then they get a prize. Generally there's an auction race in the card where people on the day can bid for a horse.

On the day attendees can place bets on the races which are played after the bets are taken. You may get races sponsored as well or if you have a programme on the day then there's money to be made from selling ad space in it. If done right then there's a lot of money to be made.
