You do realise he has to sell the fight like? And typical of some irish people to begrudge there own.. If he had shown alot of respect for his opponents I can guarantee he wouldn't be fighting for the world title next week... Legend!

Not saying he's a legend in the sport yet but he is a legend as in personality... And ye anyone who says he's gonna destroy aldo dosent know much about the sport.. I see it being mcgregor 1st or 2nd round tko or it being a five round war which aldo is more than capable of...expect mcgregor to get the win but you're can't overlook aldo

Actualy watched him once about a year + ago to see what it was about. Turned it off very quickly.

Don't know much about the sport, seen a few fights here and there of different fighters, from what I can gauge from Gunnar Nelson, he doesn't showboat and he has the same coolness in win and defeat, which was only one in his professional career.

Then again you could say if he did it he might have got in his opponent's head like McGregor has with his opponents and not lost that fight but we'll never know.

All that being said love him or not McGregor is a great fighter, people said he'll struggle with Mendes taking him down but I never saw anyone else deal with being taken down so well, helps having Gunnar Nelson in your camp no doubt!!

Again haven't seen many fights, to witness anyone dealing with it better and Mendes seemed more tired after doing that.

When I saw the last Aldo and Mendes fight, it was a very evenly matched, so my estimation is that McGregor is gonna crucify Aldo as they have the same style which McGregor is better at and Aldo doesn't take down as well as Mendes. So unless Aldo adds something to the locker that McGregor doesn't see coming, it's goodnight me thinks.

When I see McGregor fight I feel a lot of pride for him and then there's times with his press conferences he can have you pissing yourself but then you feel embarrassed for him with some things he comes out with but hey, we all say dumb shit at times and who can be articulate after running around a ring for the last number of minutes!!?

I just think calling him names and stuff is pretty immature, I do think we have to support all our people in whatever they do, as long they set a good (almost wrote goof, ha) example and the sport he is in, I think he is setting that example. And from what I've heard through the grapevine, he's a very generous thoughtful lad. Don't know any "scummer" (which I think he isn't) that would be that way inclined?

And I just think for a site like this that's supposed to be all about the love what's going on? What I say about people I'm not mad about is, no time for em and leave it at that, no need for personal attacks!

WWE(previuosly known as WWF) isn't a sham sport, it's not even a sport, it's a physical drama. Not saying the guys couldn't be classed as athletes cause they have some physical shape but they do whatever they can NOT to get hurt while pretending to be.

I have only a basic knowledge of the sportbut on the few occasions that I have seen him interviewed, yes! he has come across as a plonker however its quite obvious that this is his choose persona for the sport.

Away from the sport I have personally witnessed him being a really nice guy visiting a children's hospital for an hour but staying the entire day making sure that he met as many kids and staff as possible

Why shouldn't I want him to win he is Irish and God knows that this country needs all the feel good it can get at the moment - bandwagon or not

Ok he's confident maybe a little bit too much and it does come across as arrogance in some cases but that's part of the sport. Eubanks did the same as did many others in the world of combat sports. At the same time this is the same man who has spent time with kids in crumlin hospital and other hospitals.

Say what you want about him he's a good fighter, can talk the talk and walk the walk. He's making a name for himself and in typical Irish fashion many will begrudge him that success. That's my take on it.

He has really brought up the profile of UFC in this country and we are on the verge of having a world champion.

Despite what GAA bell ends like Joe Brolly think UFC is a massive sport and here to stay.What every keep kids in the gym and training and not on the street taking drugs and to crime is good in my book.

I think McGregor will win tonight even though i cannot stand the guy. Not all sporting legends are arrogant, Pele, Messi, jordan, fedderer. If Mcgregor was not irish we would all be rooting for Aldo, his story and humbleness are to be admired. Unfortunately i think his time is up.

isnt UFC and MMA just legalised street fighting for guys who have spent a few weeks doing some sort of martial arts training?

done get me wrong im sure some of the guys are highly trained but from what ive seen of the fights that i have seen, theres a lot of rucking on the floor and hitting people on the deck etc etc and then people wonder why you have dickheads at the top of the sport when its a sport that's designed for bullies to be successful at.

i just dont see where the skill actually comes into it, im a black belt myself, ex welsh champion and british team so know a thing or 2 about martial arts i just think hitting people when u have them pinned on the floor doesnt take a great deal of skill and can watch that for free in any town anywhere in the world.

expecting to get quite a lot of shit for that post but its just my opinion

Just wondering where all the money goes in the sport? The pay packets were supposedly McGregor 500,000 Aldo 400,000, for a sold out MGM garden plus ppv in the U.S. it doesn't seem a lot compared to a similar sized boxing promotion.
