Festive season is upon us and I'm seeing them everywhere!! Nasty hard little green balls!.........Brussel sprouts!

Hate them! No amount of bacon or soy sauce can make them taste good!!

Any lovers? Or any other hates?

Love the small ones, shredded and pan-fried in salty butter. Serve with medium rare woodpigeon fillets.

The big ones are wee balls of pure shite.

Brussel sprouts..... love them. Don't over or under cook them and they can be one of the sweetest veggies going.

Even our dog will eat them. Peels the layers off one by one....

Mid Meath

Love them, steamed quickly and with a tip of butter or pan fried with veggies. Apparently freezing them brings out the bitter taste which is why so many people seem to hate them so much.

You got to taste them straight of the stalk. But unfortunately unless we get a good few nights of frost there won't be many tasty spouts about this year. as they only increase in flavor after a light frost or two

Love them. Halved, par boiled. Fry up some garlic and lardons in butter, then pan fry them for a couple of minutes. Nice served with some toasted/crushed nuts, like almonds. Only have them a few times a year, maybe that's what keeps them nice. An essential part of the Christmas dinner!! Now I'm starvin'...
