I was so lucky yesterday to watch our new great nephew being born and it was such an emotional experience, sometimes we need reminding that what's getting us down can't keep us down xx

Sending you a big hug! I get down myself at times and I know how hard it is to reach out for help. Well done you! Worst thing people can say to me is to 'cheer up'.....it will pass...dont fight it...be kind to yourself.

I've been Fighting this illness on & off for maybe 15 years now, and from my own experience I would say:

When you find yourself in that dark place, keep reminding yourself of how good you felt before you dipped, and all the good times from your past and keep telling yourself that you will be back there in a while (yes I know it can be the hardest thing in the world to believe at the time but it has helped me and someone else I know numerous times).

As others have said there is help out there, don't hesitate to talk to your doctor because it's NOTHING to be ashamed of. Indeed the last figures I heard estimates that 1 in 6 people will suffer at least one episode of depression during their lifetime.

I hope you and everyone else are feeling at least a little better....
