Shocked also, I thought he was doing OK despite his serious illness.

As many have said already, the first superstar in the professional era. And, based on many interviews I've seen, he seemed like a thoroughly decent and down to earth human being.

Thinking of his wife and kids.

it was a shock hearing it last night. As well as being the all time rugby legend, he also seemed a grounded nice guy, his facebook pic was him and two kids playing rugby.

Sad to be gone so early in life.
