Last week I lost a very close friend of mine to addiction/suicide/depression , I'm sure theirs many fab people on here who have had a similar experience. Use this as a reference point to help anyone you know who has, needs help,or need to just say what's on your mind about it.

Much love Barry

Barry, I'm very sorry for your loss. Sudden death of any kind is hard to understand, but suicide adds a whole other dimension to the pain of loss. I wish you strength in the times ahead.

We lost a very close boyhood friend of ours 10 years ago to suicide. As a reminder and in his honour we started and named an annual sports tournament. A great way to remember our dear friend and also to get the old gang back together. Every year it grows in numbers, and an almighty piss up afterwards, Just how he would of wanted it.

Always loved and never forgotten Rip

So sorry for your loss Barry. We've encountered sudden death and suicide from quite a few close family members ourselves. Can't say that I understand what your going through because we are all different and have different coping mechanisms. Although I can empathise. But I hope you find your own way to cope. Much love and prayers.

Mrs B

So sorry for your loss I know how it feels and it is right hard to cope sometimes. I have lost 3 members of my family to suicide in a space of a few months altogether . Thinking of you at this time xxx Mrs macmully

City

A problem shared is a problem halved.

Your mind can play awful tricks when you are feeling low.

Even talking to a complete stranger face

to face can make a huge difference.

Try and fit a 15 min walk into your day to get some fresh air ..it can also give the brain a much needed break from overthinking.

Thanks everyone for the the positive comments. It Is greatly appreciated, I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

I started thread to remind people that it might be your best friend, neighbor, anyone close to you that might be going through some stuff and to drop them a line, it really can make all the difference. Also to open up the discussion of mental health in Ireland, as it seems like such touchy subject. Which is rediculous as we all go through some sort of psychological disorder in one way or another at one time or another in our lives.

Thanks guys

If you don't feel yourself half the battle is acknowledging there is something wrong and seeking help go to your doctor or hospital talk with a stranger it's no harm to have a cry and ask for help it doesn't make you weak it makes you strong I was afraid to tell anyone or ask for help I thought people would think I'm weak when my brother had to cut me from hanging this time last year and what my poor family went through I got help in my local hospital the support was phenomenal it's not easy my partner left me when I got depressed which wasn't easy either things can get better there will always be good days and bad days have to have hope you can overcome your darkness and come into light

I lost a good freind to it a few years ago still don't know why.

I do know that he must off been so low to do it and not speak out but it's not easy to speak up about it.

I still wonder why and ask myself if their waz anyway I could off know or done anything to help him.

Be strong and talk to someone it can help understand
