Party mix and balance

I've heard that it can be a but tricky to get the right balance and mix for a small party. For example trying to find people who like each other and so on. Does anyone with experience have any thoughts on this?

Do your homework and chat to people you think are genuinely interested in attending, keep an even mix of singles n couples. If you chance asking people you don't know expect carnage and Def think smaller numbers work better, good luck

From parties we attended as well as a party we hosted we recommend a slight surplus of men

Make sure you reconcile the acquaintance of all attendees to ensure there is no drama...A risk you always run into in particular if booze in excess is consumed

Carnage is definitely not wanted! Small numbers is a must for me. Thank you!

Always invite at least 20% more single guys than girls. Chances are that if you get cancellations it will be the guys. If you dont get cancellations the single girls will have more choice which is always good.

Start small, dont host a huge number of people first time around. 8 to 10 is a good number to start with. You can always grow these numbers as you become more experienced as a host.

Guests will bring their own alcohol so don't worry there. If you rent a venue it's totally acceptable and expected that you ask for a contribution towards this cost. If you host in your home you shouldn't really do this. We've seen people hosting at home and charging for sundries such as cleaning costs etc. That's just stingey.

Lay on some food for your guests. Nothing major, this isn't come dine with me! Finger food such as sausage rolls, goujons, and cocktail sausages will do nicely. Have some tortilla chips and dips too. Little nibbles help guests keep their energy up throughout the evening.

Have a good mix of music, including contemporary tracks. Music is the soul of any party and guests will feel more at ease if you have decent tunes playing.

Most importantly is rules. Remember that ladies are the ones in charge and what they say goes.

Some hosts dont give the guests a guest list. We always have given our guests the list. There are many reasons for giving your guest list to your guests once they have confirmed. Those reasons are obvious I'm sure and don't need explaining to you.

As you become known as a hoster, don't knock or mock another person/couple who wish to start hosting. Some (a small number) of the more experienced hosts have a tendency to mock another's attempt to get a foothold in the party scene. It's a territorial thing. Always always encourage others to host. Apart from The Venue in Dublin there really isn't any other place for swingers to congregate, so always encourage parties. There are 1000's of swingers in Ireland but only one decently run club and that's The Venue.

Have fun!

We held our first party last night , we had 22 people of a mixture of guys, girls and cpls , our advice would put in the hard work in trying to meet people before they come to ur party, as we knew most people , from last night's experience if u find genuine people u will have very little cancellations or no shows, there are some genuine guys out there as every guy we invited turned up last night, in our opinion it's the single females or cpls that would cancel or not show up, only in our opinion. So choose ur guest list wisely as it will be the making or breaking of a successful party

Yes! This is the right attitude. We're really happy that your debut party went so well. From reading the forums it's obvious that your guests had the time of their lives.

Well done and we wish you all the success going forward!
