Have the same problem except when 1 starts 3-4 start. I know you can complain to local authorities about it. Goes under noise pollution

I dont really want to cause hassle by reporting it for noise pollution as we have to live beside them they keep it inside all day and let it out at night a "steak sandwich" might be a sollution

you already done the right thing by complaining to them....you have given them the chance to sort the problem out. They basically said your hearing things,so now you have to tell them that if it's not sorted, you will take it further..

My sister has the same situation as you they went to the local authorities only to be told they can do nothing that you will have to report them to the guards. So you goin to them first was you bein fair with them, so they should have tried to sort it out for you but sounds like they dont give two fucks about you so id approach them again and let them know if its not sorted soon you will have to take further action

Kark

Couple of cooked sausages, pop a sleeping tablet into one, fling over the fence, couple of weeks of that and the dog will be on the same sleep pattern as you

Offer to walk the dog.

If dogs are barking for no reason - often it is because they are not getting excercised.

A couple of possible solutions. Go around, regardless of the time & disturb them when their dog disturbs you. Did you say apartments? This may be of no use then... We had an outside dog next door once who barked all the time so hubs got this yoke that used to let off a high pitch whistle when the dog barked & pointed it at their air vent. The dog disappeared after a while...

Dogs bark. It's the owner at fault, not the wow-wow.

No need to wait til it's barking, just ring their doorbell repeatedly in the middle of the night, which will set the dog off anyway ...

I think it under some kind of animal welfare act yea have to contact the gardai. If it keep going on the gardai will send someone to view dog living conditions the owner could get a court summons,I know this cause it happend to mate of mine they had the same problem.

We have dealt with barking dogs at night too. If the owners don't do anything you have two options. As an above poster said offer to exercise the dog or as another said buy a sub sonic emitter and use it when the dog barks use it. Bad that you must train another persons dog though

But not against rules normaly.

It is against rules to arguing about it and making it a big issue like this did as you are disrupting a perfectly good thread.

Now a mod has asked you to ignore each other, please do, including answering each others posts

Probably the best device available is the range called Bark Off. Works most times

This sounds like youre on a collision course which is not a nice situation as you have to live there and theres nothing much worse than falling out with your neighbours.

You have showed a lot of restraint and consideration to your neighbours by approaching them first but unfortunately this was not reciprocated.

Complaining to the Council under noise pollution would be your next step but I wouldn't hold out hope that they will resolve the problem to be honest as they will tell you they dont have the resources due to austerity budget cuts.

All I could suggest is talking to a few of your other neighbours to see if more pressure can be put on them to stop the dog. This approach may also dilute the tensions between you and the dog owners as it will no longer personal between.you.

Good luck with this as its a very difficult situation you find yoursef in and I hope you get it sorted without falling out with them as I know this will detract from you enjoying living in your own house.

"Think your right fran they have had their chance"

Report it to council. You're being too nice they have no right to keep you awake. If they were playing music the guards would be down.

Dogs can be trained. Buy one of the collars to stop barking.
