Ok so this isn't the a rant just curious. Why would you send them to people you've never talked to? Are they chancing their arm? Are they fantasists?

I think it's so they can see friend pics, I don't have any friend only pics anyway so I just ignore friend invites from randomers.

I delete them to be honest, with the exceptions of those who I have been chatting to via mail ect.

Perhaps a lot of new people simply assume they need to have a friends list, so, they are more easily accepted ect.

Kilkenny, but Dublin is more fun

I think it's just that many guys who join these types of sites, join because they think all the women or couples are easy and will shag absolutely anyone.

Sending the friend request just makes them think they're a little more "in there".

I apologise on behalf of my gender.

we only add people we've met in person to our friends list to keep it tidy but when we do get them just ignore them as they then cant resend for 30 days if you leave them sitting.ps you can also wait til they are offline, accept the request, perve THEIR private pics and then delete them from your friends list.they'll be non the wiser.

I know when we started, I thought you had to add someone to show them you were interested and to talk to them or else you'd look like a right creeper just messaging out of the blue. Nothing to do with pic collecting/perving/timewasting... I got talking to a couple early on and they told me the 'unwritten' rules of the site. Common sense may not be that common but unfortunately as newbies to a site they might genuinely not know the way things work straight off the bat.

It's simple: accept, ignore or refuse. Each to their own.

Yes

Some guys need a list of names on their profile as it looks like they actually are friends with a lot of people... and to get access to their pictures!!

So it's Image, plus a way to perv... most haven't even met anyone!!

After one sentence in a mail and some assume the right to be your friend. I don't accept the friends request. Pic collectors

I do, and will always try to weave what's in the profile into my initial message. Unfortunately from all the posts I've read on this subject, it may not even be the case of a minority of blokes tarnishing the majority, but the majority tarnishing the minority

I appreciate that its all to do with age; for me, a friend is someone I actually know, send Christmas cards to and buy birthday presents for their kids.To be befriended, by somebody I have never even met, is bizarre.

We get about 4 or 5 per day. We never except them. It's not a privacy thing with us. It's not like anyone from here will cross our paths, unless they are on holiday that is. We openly talk about who we are and what we do. Except M. He's a bit more reserved.

We only except requests from people we plan to meet and only make a request from people we REALLY want to meet.

Maybe after reading your profile they must be close to you, perhaps good friends...perhaps more...
