When ive been chatting with someone, and have to log out, I let them know im logging out ...

Does it annoy anyone else when people log out with out saying...

They are logging out ?

I don't see anything wrong with not saying I'm logging out you could be in a hurry or an emergency popped up tbh i think iv only ever once said I'm logging out chat too u later etc

It shows how someone really feels, i.e they dont really value the conversation, as it is just plain rude.

So yes we always say it.

On that note we are logging out now

This is annoying. Chatting away, getting on fine and all of a sudden, gone.

What's worse then is that you have left a message in their inbox an they don't bother reading it!@%&?

Or they do read it and not reply. What's that about....?

I don't find it rude at all,people have lives to get on with,not constantly glued to a screen and a keyboard.

What I do find odd though is you get a message from someone saying,fancy a chat? You nosey at their profile,find there's common interests,reply back yes,and during that time they have logged off.sometimes overturning for hours,days sometimes.Why ask to chat if you know your time on line is limited?

But otherwise no.

It doesn't bother me if someone disappears, it's not like they owe me anything.

If I'm in a full scale conversation and have to go I would always say catch ya later have to go! I hate chats where it takes hours at a time for every reply

This really used to grind my gears but now I realise people sometimes don't get the chance to say they're going ie,their battery dies mid convo,which happens me quite regular or something more important pops up .Best not to take it too seriously .

I never even thought to tell peeps I was logging off, I just hop in and out when I can and catch up with mails when possible, I wouldn't have imagined anyone would be offended by my delayed responses!!

I think I'd crack up if I had to say I'm logging off now. You feel bad enough getting slated for not replying to every message that's been sent let alone having to say I'm logging off.

I will say chat later if in a good convo with a friend.

I'd agree if your chatting to just one person, but I have multiple chats with peeps going and would take too long plus to be honest if they got offended that I logged off without saying I'm going it's a bit much? Like in the grand scheme of life there must be very little else going on for hem to take the time to get offended really

id never say it.

the only way I would say it is if I was on the chat screen as I was going away, and then it would be the one chat window in front of me an nothing else.

id never say it in a message like an email, or private message on here, they are not chat to me they are messages that are not instant, and can be read later or at lesiure.

dont view the messages as chat or you will ho paranoid.

If the kids come in or I'm needed for something I just go I feel the majority of people are the same so no I don't think it's rude..

Sometimes I don't have time to say to people I'm logging out, I might be in a rush to get to the bank or whatever before it closes, saying to people I have to go is only going to delay me!!

Sometimes somebody might call to my house unexpectedly without prior notice, I don't have time then to say to people I have to log out!!

I don't think it's rude, I usually would say my goodbyes but sometimes when I'm in a hurry I can't!

If it's a group chat and you are engaged with the chat, yes say bye bye. If only randomly engaged then it's OK to fade away. 1:1 chat it would be extremely rude not say goodbye. Remember chat is different to messaging. So someone is now going to remind me that I did not say bye at some stage...

I tell you whats more annoying than someone not saying "Logging off", logging on and seeing 3 messages from someone asking where you are and what happened and youre a cunt for not replying.

Also, its been proven if you can manage to limit your interaction on dating/hookup sites you do better. One or two messages to a person no more. Makes you write clearer, more to the point messages instead of dragging a conversation out of someone.
