I do get the reply now and again that goes something along the lines of "thanks for your message, we're going away for awhile/away at the moment so we'll be in touch when we get back....". Or words to that effect - maybe a bit more fleshed out...

Is it fair to assume that this is essentially another way of saying "thanks for your mail, thanks but no thanks.."??!

Is it a secret code I'm not privvy to?!

That's what I mean - a kind way of saying no thanks...

I'd be happy enough with "sorry, you're not for me/us..." Far less confusing, ha ha!

What not just take it as it is? They aren't interested right now,but will get back to you when you are what they are looking to meet.

A message read and deleted without response or a Fuck off slimeball is more a definite no.

Where always honest if we don't like the person we say it from the start no thanks but where not intrested happy swinging etc I don't understand why females an couples cannot do a simple thing like that too some guys here

Yeah, I was taking the holiday season into account... Just wondered if people had similar experiences. Maybe I should have more faith!

I'd far prefer a 'thanks but no thanks' mail rather than no reply at all though. Ironically when someone does send a reply, even if it's to say thanks but no thanks, it makes them all the more attractive because they've demonstrated they have a bit of manners about them!! (There's just no pleasing me, ha ha!)

Ah here we said that to a couple the other week. And here is the thing it was true.. We were on the way to the airport..

When we get back they will be getting a mail.

If we are not interested we will just say it no point beating about the bush.

It's impossible to generalise. Some people are telling the truth, some could be brushing you off. It's all inconsequential as the result is the same.

You're hardly going to turn down other prospects during your eager wait for their return so why not take it as a "no", say "OK" & keep fishing. If they contact you later, bonus.

exactly this, if they message when they get back ,great, I have a rule one message per profile then see what happens
