You missed the best of soccer from Ireland I think, they were under Jack Charlton, he was the best we've had!!! People were allowed to leave work early to watch the matches, there were great atmospheres in the pubs!!! They were great times!!!!

I watched it in on a big screen in a crowded pub . There was huge tension during the shootout until Bonner saved one & the place erupted . When O Leary scored the whole place went mental. People on tables , drink flying all over the place , glasses breaking ! After it was over we all left the pub we met people That watched it in other pubs ! There was a carnival atmosphere ! I hope we get to see another day like that !

Nearby

I was 14, a tomboy and mad into soccer. Had a huge crush on Andy Townsend . Jack Charlton was the best manager the Irish team ever had.

I remember watching it with my Dad, roaring the house down. Mam shouting at us to calm down it was "just a game"

Remember all the Bart Simpson knock off T shirts that came out before each match? (Mainly available on the Northside)

"In the summer, in the sunshine, we're off to Italia

For the World Cup, we're getting wound up to support the best team in the land.."
